Kiara’s POV
I took a deep breath as I entered the studio. Why did my manager think it was a good idea to have me audition for a movie? I have never acted in my life! I sighed and signed in with the secretary and took a seat in the lobby. I looked down at the script and read the lines again quickly. Seems simple enough.
“Kiara?” A woman said. I looked up and stood up from my chair. She smiled at me and said, “Right this way,” She led me through a door to the audition room. I walked in to see a table with five people behind it, the panel of judges.
“Ah! You must be Kiara! It’s a pleasure,” A man stood up and shook my hand, “I’m Kevin, the director. I’ve heard great things about you from Josh. You’re a dancer?” “Yes, I am. LA School of Ballet and guest artist in New York,” I smiled at them.
“Wow, that is very prestigious for a girl your age,” “Thank you,” I smiled.
“So you have never acted before?” He said. “No, sir, but I can try my best,” “Alright, can you first read Holly’s lines on page 3?” “Sure,” I flipped to page three in my little packet.
“Drew, what’s going on?” I read.
“Holly, it’s not what it looks like,” Kevin read.
“I trusted you! I-trusted-you, Drew! Then you go behind my back?! After all we’ve been through! I thought you wouldn’t be like Jason, but you’re exactly the same! You lied to me! Lied to my face! I’ll never forgive you! Ever!” I read, tears starting to stream down my face. I thought of all of the hurt Cody and Alex had caused me.
“You said you were different. You said you would never hurt me, Drew! That was all a lie, wasn’t it? Just so you could get what you wanted!”
“Holly, please listen to me-”
“You never loved me! You were just using me! The entire time!” I said, voice growing louder.
“I love you, Holly! I would never-”
“Save it!” I yelled. There was a minute of silence.
“I thought you were different,” I let my voice become soft and trail off.
“End scene,” Kevin said. The panel clapped. I wiped under my eyes. It was good?!
“Wow,” Kevin said, “You’ve never acted before?”
I shook my head, “No,”
“That was amazing!”
“Really?” I looked at him, dumbfounded.
“Yes! Can you come back on Tuesday to read with the boys auditioning for Drew?”
“Of course!” I smiled widely.
I walked into the studio and was taken to a waiting room for the girls. There were nine other girls. They were all gorgeous. I didn’t recognize any of them. They must have wanted fresh faces for this movie. They were all gorgeous. I pushed away that feeling of insecurity and held my head high. I needed to be confident if I wanted this part.
“Are you Kiara West?” A girl with gorgeous brown hair asked. “Yeah, I am,” I smiled.
The girl turned away and whispered to the girl beside her, “She’s that chick who’s dated like five famous guys,”
I rolled my eyes and ignored her. Girls in LA were such jerks. That’s why I stuck to my close friends at the studio.
“Ladies?” We looked over to see the woman who had called me into my audition a few days before. We all stood up and followed her into the audition room. I got pushed to the back, so once we got into the room, I could barely see Kevin and the boys.
