Okay, so you've arrived at Tweldor. How long can you stay? You have obligations in the real world. Won't they notice you're missing? Well... no. That's the wondrous thing about Tweldor!
Time moves differently here. Months even years can pass in Tweldor, but depending on which door you take to make your return, only weeks, hours, or minutes will have passed in the outside world. So, you have plenty of time to learn how to wield a sword or fire a crossbow should you choose to become a Tweldorian.
Would you stay? Well...first you need to be appraised by the Council, and the gargoyle guards.
I've never been able to find artwork that matches my concept of the Tweldorian gargoyles...but the images below will give you some idea. Here's how they are described in The Jezebels of Bedlam...
"Unlike their stone counterparts, they were neither grotesque nor ridiculous. Their bodies were various shades of basalt - from dark dust red, to the lightest yellow, dark green grey to pale olivine, an almost silver grey to charcoal black. They were strikingly tall, muscular and strong, and their eyes were lavender in colour. They had the pointed ears that are often associated with elves and exaggerated canines, but otherwise, their features differed just as those of humans did."
