My shirt was beginning to dry as we approached Wal-Mart. Katy still had not gotten off me but her crying must have been waning.
As the driver pulled around up front I nudged Katy.
"Katy, we're here."
Katy looked up at me through her red rimmed eyes.
"Oh. Alright then. Let's go."
Katy sat up and fixed her hair before looking at me expectantly.
"Aren't you coming?"
"Umm...won't you be recognized...." I hate saying that after what just happened.
Katy looked down at the ground. I knew she was replaying today's earlier events in her head.
"Yeah. Your right. Just don't take long, okay?"
"Got it."
I threw the door open and bounded away before Katy could try and give me some of her money. This was something I wanted to pay for.
I walked fast, losing no time. It didn't take me long to get the makeup aisle considering I always came by this way to look at Katy's Cover girl picture anyways.
I grabbed the most generic brands I could find and ran to self check out. I payed for my things and quickly left.
"So what did you get?" Katy asked.
"NOTHING SPECIAL!!"
"Why are you talking like that?"
"LIKE WHAT!"
"That."
"I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT KA-TY!"
"Pfff. Whatever."
I sighed in relief as she told the driver to go back to my house.

Once we arrived Katy hopped out and thanked the driver.
"Carissa? Do you mind if I stay here for a little while?"
"No. In fact I was going to ask you to stay."
"Cool."
Alright. Time to focus.
Katy waved the driver away as I unlocked the front door. I guess my parents were out. Good, this plan was going smoothly.
Katy followed me up to my room and watched as I pulled the chair out from my desk and instructed her to sit.
"Why? What are we doing?"
I looked at her and grinned.
"You, my pop star, are about to have a commoner make over."
