"So what do you want to do after this?" Katy asked sipping on her Sonic shake.

"Umm... I don't know. You want to see a movie?" I replied chewing on my orange chicken.

"Sure. What do you want to see?"

"Umm...Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?"

Katy started to laugh and I got a little nervous. Then she started to reply.

"I wasn't going to say anything but my secret nerd was hoping you'd pick that movie."

I sighed in relief. I thought she was laughing at me.

"Okay then it's settled. We'll see T.M.N.T. And I pay."

"Umm.. No. I don't think so missy."

"But you paid for everything we bought today."

"But I also make more money than you."

I sighed in defeat and got up to throw my tray away.

When I turned back to see a little girl by Katy.

"Your KATY PERRY!!!" The little girl screamed.

Many people turned around to look and started to take out phones.

I looked up at her in panic. She grabbed my hand and speed walked through the crowd.

I almost tripped over myself multiple times as we made our way to the parking lot.

Katy's car was now surrounded in fans.

A black car pulled up in front of us and I was shoved in before I could even blink.

I watched as fans started to run after the now moving car.

"I always feel so bad doing that."

I turned back to Katy who was wearily watching the fading fans.

I can only imagine how she feels.

She performs and sings and does everything for her fans.

But she is so big that for her safety she can't really personally interact with them.

And the time she does is only with those who can pay for it. Even though her majority fan base is those who can't afford it.

"I can see why that would upset you."

"You do?"

Katy turned to me as she said it. There seemed to be hope in her eyes. I don't know.

"Yea. I mean you hardly get to meet the people that make you who you are. And when you do meet them its only limited."

"Yep."

Katy looked away from me and turned to the tinted window. She brought her arm up to her chin and rested her head against it.

In that moment I realized Katy was really just a person. A regular person. Someone who just wanted to be normal. It took me all this time to realize that.

She just wanted a chance to be normal.

She really was just plain Katy. I liked that. I can help her do that.

It's time for a makeover by a typical American!
