Varun's POV:
It would be a lie, if I say that a momentary pause after her, 'then...' didn't scare the hell out of me. The slight shiver in her voice didn't go unnoticed by me. But amidst all this, her opening up to me, about her life meant that she still trusted me and I still had a place in her heart, no matter what place it is.
Within no time, tears filled in her eyes blurring her sparkling orbs. Throwing me a hesitant smile she continued...

Adviti's POV:
"I was happy at my workplace, a nice position, a good amount of salary, some kind colleagues–my life was nothing less than the heaven. Ever since we bid goodbye for the one last time, that was the first time I found myself at peace..." pausing for a while and sighing I looked at him, who was now looking at me keenly sitting still almost like a rock with no fidgeting, wiping the shivers on my face, I continued, " I was soo proud of making my naani–my only true strength, finally proud. Also, as much as I now realise that I was wrong, I was happy back then, I acheived everything we dreamt of together, single handedly on my own, I felt I was finally victorious..." Guilty of my own actions in the past, I couldn't now face him anymore and hence I decided to look away from his scrutinising gaze. But then, there was a tap on my shoulder, "Hey, it's ok Adu, we both knew that wasn't our time, the fact that you thought we were in a combat or something doesn't make you bad! Please, don't be soo harsh on yourself, go ahead I still think of you the same, my opinion on you hasn't even changed a bit after this, remember? For me past never mattered, it's all the present that is crafted with only beautiful moments from the past, that matters..."
Those words of him brought soo much of tranquility to my mind, I wonder how can one be soo generous to forgive people that easily? I can't really believe someone can be soo understanding, he amuses me every single time by being unpredictable. "Ahem!" my reverie was broken when he fake cleared his throat, "I know I am handsome, but that doesn't give you right to stare at me with that piercing gaze? Nazar lag jaayegi mujhe yaar..." he whined in his kiddo tone. I couldn't help but smile at his sweet antic. "Pagal hain tu Varun" I smacked his hand on table, "Woh tho tu hain, pagli he...he... Chal chal abb aage bata" came his reply.
"So, my perfect world was still perfect until he arrived. Like a strange silence before my mind was all set to be a storm of emotions..." I looked up at Varun and continued, "Mr. Niketan wants to see you, Miss Adviti..." his personal assistant Shyna, barged into my cabin hastily, almost swallowing up the sorry that followed after that sentence. "Oh! But that project of Mr. Shikhawat is already complete and I have submitted it to Niketan sir?" "Naah, it's something...umm...more important?"
I was perplexed as I couldn't figure out what she meant by 'something more important'. Nodding my head, I walked out of my cabin. How I wish, I would have never walked out of my cabin that day! How I wish, I never had to see what I saw later! How I wish... Ufff...
"Ma'am here's your black coffee", came a voice from my left side which forced us to break our eye contact. "T...Thanks" acknowledging the server with a courteous smile. "Hello, sir. Isn't the cafe's name The tea trap?" Varun inquired the clueless server, putting on his mischievous side. The server nodded in return."Tho, aren't you supposed to give first preference to chai? Agar nahi hota tho naam badal daalo, right now! Black coffee pehle laake rakhte ho and then you say, the cafe is tea trap? Waah bhai, waah!" The server looked around to ensure, that people aren't looking at his pityful tight-lipped state and then went off smacking his own head and muttering, "pata nahi aise log mujhe hi kyun milte hain..."
"That was a joke, by the way. He...he..." He was back in his playful mood again. "Achha, so yeah you gotta continue, Adu..."
