ADVITI'S POV:
As soon as I realised that we were a little too lost in each other's eyes, I was the first one to come out of the trance. Finishing the last few sips of my black coffee, I enquired. "How is Deepti?" "Uhmm... actually we parted our ways. I mean it was amicable but yeah we broke up" , came his response.
"My goodness! But why?" it was after all my turn now to quench my curiosity.VARUN'S POV:
"We just felt we weren't compatible enough. Maybe? I mean, sab theek tha. Till that one day." I paused, sighing. Eager to know the story, Adu quickly spoke up, "One day? Matlab?". "Uhmm...woh woh maine job chod di" I closed my eyes not having enough guts to face the world around me, I mean sorry my world infront of me. Chup! She isn't mine anymore. My thoughts literally make me feel like a clown most of the times.
"Aankh band karne se, sachhayi jhoot ban jaayegi kya?" Adu retorted. I slowly opened my eyes and with squinted eyes I look at her to catch a glimpse of her facepalming. I decided to continue, " woh... woh... you know you know, how much I am fond of guitar. So yeah, while I was working at Dark-hue industries, I met a group of music enthusiasts at a local club. They were all from different background. And..." I am clearly in a mess now. I don't know how to proceed. "And? VR, look at me. And?" Adu's curious orbs seemed to pierce my soul. "And, well... I decided to join them, as a guitarist. This wasn't very well received by Deepti. So we had no option rather than ending it all" I concluded, throwing my hands off in air as if I finally rested my case, looking at those pair of orbs again. But now, they seemed to have lost in some deep thought.ADVITI'S POV:
"So we had no option rather than ending it all..." He said, so was it that easy for him? So, he never had any affinity towards her? Deepti–the mere name gave me chills and simultaneously angered me more than any name in this world. My mind oblivious to everything around drifted back to a place of puddle of memories. "Hey! You. Stay away from my man. Stop snatching him away from me". "But, I..." before I replied, she had continued, "If you are uninformed, let me just clarify it for you, baby... My parents and Varun's parents have known each other for 20 years now. I have loved him since childhood. Remember one thing sweetheart, I get what I want" she had warned. But then, probably I was mad in love. We were hell-bent on making our relationship work. We were lost in it so much that we never saw the red flags. The future wasn't just in our hands. Taking a deep breath, I adjusted my salwar, looking at those hazel green eyes that intently stared at me now, I said. "We were silly back then!"
"That just wasn't the right time" Varun tried justifying. "See us now... I am sure, we can..." I swear watching him gulp the words next was a scene. Hiding my laughter, I asked, "we can...?" "Ahem...we can choose right people now I mean." He somehow managed to cover up. "So, yeah Adu, you were saying something?" with this he had left me with no choice but to go back to those times where I watched our castle of love, shatter in front of my own eyes.---------------------------------------------------------
