Hey, I'm back briefly, since a lot of you wanted updates for this story. I'm still busy as fuck and midterm exams are literally in a week.

Edit 3/8/2022, a month later: I still have one more midterm this Saturday. (T^T)

It's very nice to read everyone's comments, and there's a lot of you freaking out over the "let's have kids together" thing between the main characters. (Quite funny to me lol)

Think of it as the thing where really young childhood friends are like "hey let's get married when we grow up" but then forget it or grow apart later on in life. It might seem like a really big thing but it's not, really. They're making these decisions and giving verbal consent/confirmation in the case where they really do have to follow that path for survival.

So please don't freak out!!

There's nothing that's going to be over PG-13 that will actually happen between the characters. Just innocent stuff like hand-holding, hugs, kisses on the cheek or forehead, etc.

After Season 1, I'll add in some stuff from the manga/anime (based on my research) but I can't actually bring myself to finish watching S2, so it would go by relatively on its own.

Also, please note that as long as I haven't declared the story as finished, on HIATUS, or discontinued, the story WILL get updated... sometime. Being a STEM major asks for a lot of me time and commitment wise; writing is the least of my worries. Please take note that authors have lives outside of writing.

Norman Pov

I opened my eyes to find myself staring up at the familiar ceiling of my room.

"Eri? Ray? Emma?" I called out, sitting up and looking around.

"What happened...?" I muttered to myself, finding that I was alone.

FLASHBACK

"Nothing much. Ray wants to have kids with me." Erica tattled.

".....Did I hear that right?" I asked.

.

"Why don't you wash away my dirty language with your lips then, lover boy?"

FLASHBACK OVER

GYAAAAAAAAA-!!! I screeched internally, remembering what had happened. Eri told me t-to k-k-k kiss her!! Thinking about it makes me happy, and- embarrassed, and- and- But we're so young!! Rubbing my hot face with my hands, I climbed out of my bed and walked towards the window.

"Erica gave Ray flowers!!"

"Erica, are you cheating on Norman?"

"Ooh~ It's officially a love triangle!!"

"Doesn't that mean that Emma's the fourth wheel?"

"Where'd you learn all those things, you guys?! You're too young for romance!!"

Hurriedly stuffing my feet into my shoes, I ran out to the front yard- where Erica and Ray would be. Why would Eri give Ray flowers? Aren't I her partner?

...Am I not enough?

Just as I arrived, I could see a small bouquet of Sheep's Sorrel in Erica's hands. She had a small, mysterious smile on her lips as she approached Ray.

No.

No, wait.

If Ray becomes your partner, then...

What about me?

What about us?

"Eri!!" I yelled, running towards her with my arm outstretched.

Nearly knocking over Mama on the way, I ran as fast as I could towards the two. Eri seemed to have not heard me, as she didn't react. Her deep blue eyes were solely focused on Ray, making my heart ache at the sight. Everything fell silent as I was forced to watch Ray accept the small bouquet from Eri's hands, his face as impassive as ever.

Ray's eyes widened and his face morphed into a panicked expression as he noticed me. Eri's gaze followed afterwards, her beautiful blue eyes glossing over me.

My heart sank into the pits of my stomach.

A smirk, which I could only describe as cold and cruel, grew on Eri's face.

~~~ Ray Pov ~~~

"Aren't you going to stay with him until he wakes up?" I asked.

Erica had returned an unconscious Norman to their room, and instead of staying with him unlike my expectations, had returned outside right after.

"I don't want him to see me giving you Sorrel. He might get the wrong idea, you know? Get his poor little human heart broken at the idea of me replacing him with you. Of course, that's not the case." Erica replied, stretching her limbs out.

So she's planning on giving me the Sorrel while Norman's unconscious so that the only thing he has to get used to is me moving into their room. I realized.

"Can't you give it to me secretly, then?"

"Isabella has to see it with her own eyes. She has to see me giving you the Sorrel, and see you accept it yourself."

So it's something public that has to be accepted and seen by the staff... I thought, making a mental note of it. Erica took a deep breath, stretching out her limber limbs.

"I'll be right back. Hopefully, it won't be too hard to find that thing." She stated, before running off into the woods.

It was kind of like watching one of the younger kids- lost and not knowing where to go. Erica darted in and out of the woods, gaze planted on the ground.

SMACK

"Ow!"

A distant yelp reached my ears as she ran headfirst into a tree, falling onto her ass almost comically. I got up to go and ask her if she was all right, but froze when she jumped onto her feet and kicked the tree angrily. Then she was off again.

I sat back down under the usual tree with a snort of amusement.
