Beth stared down at her wedding ring. It had been six months and she remembered the events that transpired from that day like it was yesterday. Vows were said, rings exchanged and then before she knew it she heard the preacher say "I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." She felt Zach pull her into his arms to claim his first married kiss just as the doors to the church opened and he stepped in. Velvet blue eyes met with her stormy blue ones. The look on his face was seared into her memory for all eternity. That look of desperation, love and pain all rolled into one. He didn't have to say a word. She could read his mind without him speaking one syllable. She could feel her sister let out a breath that she had been holding forever it seemed, along with Rick and Glenn. They had gotten there too late. She was Zach's wife now. Zach claimed his kiss and afterwards, she looked over at her sister. Maggie was speechless. The look on her face mirrored what everyone else was thinking. Daryl turned away and made his way back out the doors into the hallway with Rick and Glenn following close behind. They both had no words to say, only patting their friend on his back comforting him as best they could. Finally Rick spoke to him. "I'm so sorry, Daryl", as he pulled away to leave Daryl with his thoughts. Daryl just stood there as he could hear the preacher introduce the couple to the congregation as he gathered his thoughts. He had to get out of there before he came face to face with her. Daryl felt like he had been punched in the gut. How the hell did he end up like this? "Figures", he thought. He should've told her how he really felt and never pushed her away. He loved her. Damn, he loved her. Nothing would be the same for him now. His heart had been ripped out of him and it was all his fault. Turning on his heels he quickly walked out of the church before he ran into them. Fishing his phone out of his pocket he put a call through to Merle. When his brother answered he quickly told Merle to come pick him up down the road from the church. He needed to get the hell out of there quickly. "Be there in a few, Darylina", Merle smirked as he hung up the phone with his baby brother. "Damn stubborn ass", he thought as Merle headed for his vehicle.Beth tried to look for Daryl but was caught in the receiving line with everyone coming up to offer the couple their congratulations. Everything past that point was a fog. She graciously accepted everyone's well wishes but she was numb inside. He had shown up at the church. He did love her and had tried to stop her but it was in vain. If only he had shown up a few minutes earlier just as the preacher was saying "If anyone knows cause why these two should not be wed speak up or forever hold their peace". She tried to speak then but the words wouldn't form. Maggie glanced over to her then and gave her the look that said "Speak up, Bethy, please, for all our sakes", but she had kept quiet. Had she known he was on his way she would've said something. Would've shouted it if she had to...she didn't want to be Zach's wife....she wanted to be Daryl's. Damn! She had really screwed it up now. She couldn't go back and fix it. What had been done was done. Bottom line. Beth was brought back to reality from her thoughts as Zach's pickup came down the driveway. She had some news to share with him. She had been feeling strange the past few weeks and even though they weren't trying, she had suspected that she might be pregnant. Zach had left early in the morning to go to work and Beth had gotten up to use the bathroom. She hid the test under her pillow not wanting to tip him off that she might be with his child. "Are you ok, hon, you don't look so good. Everything ok?" he asked her. Beth only nodded and smiled at him. "I'm fine. Just thinking I ate something that didn't agree with me that's all." Zach looked at his wife and gave her a small kiss on her mouth. "I'll be back late tonight, we're still working on that house over on Azalea Ave. downtown and we have a hard deadline. Foreman wants everything done by the 5th so we are going to be working late to get it done". Beth just nodded. "See ya later, babe", Zach turned and walked towards the front door. Beth waited until she heard the truck turn on and left the driveway before going back into the bathroom. Pulling the stick out of her bathrobe pocket she removed the wrapper and put the test between her legs. Afterwards she placed it on the sink and waited. Soon the + appeared in the window after just a few seconds. Beth's reaction to what she was seeing was confusing to her. She had always wanted a baby but not with the man she was married to...instead all she envisioned was a child with blue eyes and dark brown hair and the same lopsided grin that sent chills down her spine when he would smile at her. Daryl's child. There wasn't a day that didn't go by without her thinking of him. She wondered what he was doing, where he was. Did he think of her? She so regretted what happened. She should've spoke up. If only she did, she might be standing in her and Daryl's bathroom instead, with Daryl's baby resting in her abdomen instead of Zach's. Still, she was committed to her husband regardless of the fact that her heart still remained with another. She left the test on the sink as she left the bathroom and made her way to the phone. Picking it up she dialed Maggie's number. At least Maggie understood what she was going through even though her sister wasn't in love with someone else. Maggie herself had just found out she was pregnant a few weeks ago and so Beth figured that they both could lean on each other. In a small way that gave her comfort. Maybe this child could get her to focus on something else other than those piercing velvet blue eyes that invaded her dreams night after night. She hoped so.Across town, Daryl sat at the bar with Merle on one side and Martinez on the other. "Hey", Daryl said and made eye contact with the bartender. "Another". "Better slow down, Daryl, that's your fifth one tonight", the bartender looked over at him and Daryl game him a dirty look. "Don't fuckin care....I want to get shit faced drunk tonight", he replied. The bartender poured another shot and then stated "that's it for awhile until I know for sure you can walk out of here without your buddies having to carry you out". "What the fuck ever", Daryl spat. About an hour later Daryl looked over at the clock. Clock on the wall said 3:00 a.m. Last call for alcohol. "One more", Daryl said to the bartender. "Last one", the bartender said and poured another shot. Daryl took the shot and looked around for his brother who happened to be with some red headed chick with a pound of make-up on and a skimpy leather skirt and low cut blouse. Merle was all up in her grill or at least her boobs with the way they were practically falling out of her top. "Hey baby brother, Renee here has a sister...how about you and me and the sisters going back to our place for a little late night fun?" Daryl grimaced. That's the last thing he wanted was for some chick to bang. After that day he tried to forget her and what happened. He went on a drinking binge for a few days afterwards. Every night he brought home a different girl. Their faces and names were a blur. He couldn't even remember many details about them. All he could think about was the angel with the blonde hair and soft pink lips with her creamy white skin and the way she looked in that wedding gown. The look on her face that told him that she loved him, would always love him and wished that it was him that was standing beside her in that church. He did remember that in the middle of fucking one of those girls he called her by Beth's name. "Who's Beth?" the girl asked in surprise. Daryl just grunted and continued on. He didn't care. All he wanted to do was forget her. Problem was he never could. She would always be in his thoughts. He would see her around town sometimes. She would never see him though. His hunting abilities allowed him to observe but not be seen. Sometimes late at night he would drive past her house on his motorcycle. The lights would be on in the house and he wondered if she was up waiting for him. Once he swore she looked out the window to glance at him as he rode by but then convinced himself that was only his imagination and wishful thinking on his part. "Time to go, little brother", Merle spoke and jolted Daryl out of his thoughts. He could feel another body rubbing up against his but it wasn't his brother's. Instead it was what's-her-name's sister. "I can give you a good time, sugar", she smiled at him and rubbed his thigh. Daryl instantly got hard but it wasn't this girl that he was thinking about. "Beth", he whispered. "Name is Debbie not Beth, honey" the girl said back. Daryl just gave a "mmmmmm" back at the girl not caring what her name was or anything else about her. He looked at her for a minute and then his mouth came crashing down on hers. "Woah there, Darylina...let's wait till we get in the truck then you can do whatever you like to her", Merle laughed. Daryl and the girl followed Merle and the red head outside and into the truck. Merle sat up front while Daryl and the sister sat in the back of the cab. As Merle started the truck, Daryl felt his pants being unzipped and his belt buckle undone. Before he knew it the girl had taken him in her mouth and began to suck on his cock. Daryl looked down at the girl working her mouth over his hard rod. He had major whiskey dick and knew it was going to be awhile until be blew his load. "Fuck, Beth, damn your mouth feels so good", he breathed out. The chick couldn't say anything back with a mouthful of cock and so all she could let out was a slight moan. Daryl sat back in the seat. Looking down all he could see was a head full of blonde hair moving up and down. This was going to be a long night.
