Bright's hand shivered as they waited for the nurses to come out of the room.
They were asked to stay outside first as they helped his mother. Not knowing what was going on inside was killing him.
Win who was sitting beside the older boy covered his shaking hands and felt it become still. His anxious wandering eyes stopped and stayed looking at the younger.
All of a sudden, tears started rolling down his face. He felt so vulnerable in front of Win that whenever he looks at him, all the emotions burst inside.
The younger boy had never seen Bright this scared in his life. Not even when he was
hanging on to the tip of his fingers on the verge of falling off the building. It was the fact that Bright was more terrified of losing his mother than losing his own life that made Win emotional too.
He wiped the drops of tears on Bright's cheeks and hugged him tightly, wishing that he could just squeeze the worry away from his heart.
After a few minutes, the nurses left the room and the two immediately went to check up on Bright's mother. She was now smiling so innocently at them like nothing happened.
This was something Bright didn't like about his mother. How she pretends to be fine when clearly she was suffering.
It all started when everything in their family went downhill. Because of financial issues, the family began to break apart.
Everything got worse when Bright revealed that he would work as a producer and no one believed in him, except for his mother.
They all thought he was of no help, that was until he successfully provided for his mother and himself that they came back and he assumed that P'Moo was just one of them.
His mother smiled through it all. She loved to pat Bright's head whenever things go wrong, and now he started to develop that habit of patting Win's head whenever he's sad.
The first time was when Win bumped his head on the ferris wheel and the second was when he cried after what they did in the shower.
In conclusion, Win meant so much to Bright, almost as much as his mother meant to him.
"Ma, tell me honestly, does it still hurt?" Bright asked her, gesturing to his chest.
She shook her head.
"Thank goodness. I'll let Win accompany you while I buy some healthy food for you okay?" he pat her shoulder gently.
"Baby, you can bring Win with you. I want to sleep for awhile." she said as she looked at the younger to go with him.
"A-are you sure? I'm really fine with staying here." Win asked.
She smiled adorably at him and asked him to go ahead.
They both left the room and made their way to the nearest grocery store in the area.
As they looked at soft foods for Bright's mother, the younger started to salivate. He stared at the packets of sushi and then looked away when the older turned to him.
That caused a smile on Bright's face.
"Take anything you want." he said, pinching Win's cheek gently.
"Thanks, but I'm good." Win replied, but hesitation clear in his voice.
"Just take it~" the latter dragged his soft voice in a cute way, placing three packets of cold sushi into the basket that Win was holding.
They also bought some fruits in the store and congee which was sold just outside.
As they were about to head back into the hospital, some paparazzi managed to find them and started snapping in front of Win.
He felt uncomfortable so Bright wrapped his arms around him and they walked quickly to his mother's hospital room while the paparazzi were being kicked out.
- two days after -
Win was scolded twice for skipping work just so he could spend time with Bright playing soccer during his emergency leave and visiting his mother.
He had no clue that the younger sacrificed his work just to play with him and his soccer friends.
"I also wanna relieve my stress just like you. Let me play today please?" Win held onto Bright's arm as if he was gonna run away.
The older shook his head. He realised that fans were starting to notice how close they are. It was surprising that some even started to ship them both.
Bright knew it wasn't good for Win and the issue with his dad.
"We can do that another time. I'm starting work tomorrow too so we won't be playing for a while." he said, patting Win's head to comfort him a little.
"But.. I just wanted to spend time with you.. I also just started getting along with your friends." the boy pouted and looked down.
It was undeniable that Win had become quite close to Bright's soccer friends. It was also undeniable that the older gets jealous about it sometimes.
Just as Bright and Win had left the hospital at 8pm in the evening, the younger's phone rang in his pocket.
He quickly answered it.
"Win Metawin, meet me in the GMM building in my office, NOW." he heard the producer say.
His voice had been deep and fierce ever since Win rebelled against him.
Somehow, Win felt bad for ditching Love but he just really wanted to be with Bright, especially when he might be at his lowest because of his mother's condition.
All he wanted was to cheer the older boy up as he knew what it was like to lose a loved one, who was his little brother.
He knew that Bright felt anxious so often although he tried to hide it. That feeling was terrible and Win just wanted to lighten that heavy feeling from Bright.
However, he couldn't stop the nervousness when he heard the producer's voice through the phone. He sounded unusually mad today.
Win responded with a quiet 'okay' and ended the call immediately.
He sighed.
He was ready to face the music.
