Chapter Eleven

Miguel, Tory and me were streching and getting ready for training and I was listening to them talk.

"What about Friday?" "I can't. I'm working at the roller rink." "Great. Let's turn it into a date night." "Candlelit dinner at the snack bar on my break?" "Look, there's nothing more romantic than free hot dogs and chicken nugs." "Free? Not for you. You gotta pay up."

"What about you y/n? are you free on Friday? Maybe we could have a double date." Tory said looking at me then to Hawk who just entered the dojo.

"Tory I doubt he'd say yes and-" "no ands or buts ask him after training is done or I'll ask him for you." "fine I'll ask him." I said rolling my eyes "great" Tory said while smiling.

"Everybody, fall in. Today, we'll be learning one of the most important lessons a Cobra Kai could ever know." Sensei said as we got in rows "Where's Sensei Kreese?" hawk said.

"Mr. Kreese will no longer be joining us. I made a promise when I became your sensei. To always look out for your best interests. Despite how hard this may be for all of us, he didn't have our best interests at heart. John Kreese may have founded Cobra Kai, but he no longer represents what this dojo stands for. His Cobra Kai was old and outdated. He refused to move forward, and what happens when we do that, Mr. Diaz and Miss L/n?"

"You get stuck like cement." we told him.

"Exactly. To be a great fighter, you gotta learn to adapt. This creed on the wall. Follow it to the letter, it'll make you strong. It'll make you formidable. It'll also make you an asshole. Cause that's just black paint on a white wall. But life's not black and white. More often than not, it's gray. And it's in those gray areas where Johnny Lawrence's Cobra Kai sometimes shows mercy. Doesn't mean you can't be badass. It's still a requirement. But you have to learn to think, not just with your gut, or your fists, but to really use this. Which leads me to today's lesson. Headbutting. Grab a partner."

I was watching from the sidelines holding my head because I had gotten a headache from headbutting as hawk kept headbutting "ouch that must have hurt." I said laughing after he hit a kid's head making him fall to the ground.

After class everyone was leaving and just as hawk as walking out the door

Tory came up to me and said "well what are you waiting for go ask him before he's gone."

"oh shoot I forgot."

I ran out the door to see him walking away. "hawk!" I yelled to him, he turned around and stopped walking

"hey what's up?" he asked me smiling.

"oh I just wanted to ask if you're free Friday? you know to maybe go to the roller rink with Miguel and Tory."

"yeah I think I am Friday do you want me to pick you up or meet you there?" 

"Demetri would probably not be too happy if he saw you in the driveway so I'll meet you there." I said.

"alright well I'll see you there." "yep I'll see you too." I said then left

When I got to the roller rink I found hawk waiting for me outside on his phone.

"hey I like you're hair." i said since his hair was down from the mohawk.

"oh thanks I like your outfit." he said. "so do you want to go in and find Miguel and Tory?"

"yeah let's go in." he said and we got into the place and found Tory and Miguel in front of Sam and Robby.

"Sam? is that you?" I ask she turned around and saw me. "y/n! I didn't know you'd be here."

"yeah somebody basically begged me to come here with them for like a double date or something like that." I said to her.

"double date? who are you here with?" "I asked hawk and he said yes." "oh hawk. well okay me and Robby are going to go get skates but we'll see you later?" "yeah definitely see you later." "let's go get some skates too." hawk said grabbing my hand.

When we got out into the rink area I kept falling but hawk kept catching me.

"you know, your gonna break you're ankle or leg if you keep falling." he said helping me up again.

"then I guess you going to have to catch me before I do." I said to him.

"hey it's getting kind of late do you want to get going soon? it's almost 8:30"

"my mom will probably be wondering why I'm out so late so yeah let's go."

"if you can make it out of here without falling." "oh shut up." I told him and made my way out of the rink without falling.

I took my roller skates off to go to the food court but on the way there I saw Sam and Robby leaving and Tory on the ground with food around her.

"Tory! are you okay?" "yeah I'm fine just the bitch Sam tripped me." she said as I helped her up. "okay me well and hawk are going to go because it's getting late but we'll see you at the dojo? I'm also sorry that we really couldn't "double date" thing tonight, maybe we can try another night?"

"yeah for sure I'll see you at the dojo too."

Me and hawk got outside and we're laughing and having fun talking and we got to my car.

"I had a fun time tonight I'll see you tomorrow at the dojo." "yeah I'll see you too." after I said that it went silent for a minute as we stared at each other.

"y/n, i have something to tell you that I've been meaning to tell you for awhile now." hawk said looking at the ground. "what is it?" I asked as he looked up at me. "y/n, I've really li-"

"y/n? what the hell are you doing here? with him!" I heard someone yell. I whipped my head around to see Demetri a couple feet away from us.

"Demetri? what are you doing here?" I tried to say but got interrupted.

"I thought I told you to stay away from my sister did I not?" Demetri said grabbing my arm and pulling me to his side.

"Demetri let me go."

"you know I shouldn't have trusted you around her the day you got that stupid mohawk and that tattoo that looks terrible, infact I don't want you and the Cobra Kai's around her anymore she's quitting this karate or "cobra kai" bullshit and that's final."

"Demetrius you can't make decisions for me now let. me. go." I said getting angrier by the second.

"dude just let her go." hawk said.

I yanked my arm from Demetri's grip and noticed that my arm was red. I looked up to Demetri.

"maybe you should be the one to quit karate Demetri." I said then started walking to my car and past hawk.

"where are you going?"  I turned around to see Demetri walking towards me.

"home, and I don't want to talk to you for the rest of the night just please leave me alone."

I told him getting into my car and closing the door. Demetri and hawk looked like they exchanged a few words then left. After that I called hawk.

"hey sorry about Demetri, I don't know what's gotten into him he's never like this to me."

"that miyagi do karate shit is probably messing with his brain."

"I don't know but I'm going to head home I'll talk to you tomorrow."

We said our goodbyes and hung up. I let out a sigh and pulled out of the parking lot.

"some night."
