FTR or RR?

Lelia's POV:

My headaches as the clicking sound won't stop. I tried to open my eyes but that seemed like an impossible task right now. I tried to listen but everything is lost.

My eyes finally opened and I was met with a red and gold veil covering my face.

Wait what?

I did a double look. I closed my eyes then opened them but I was still in the same situation. I quickly moved to move the veil away from my face.

I was in a carriage with curtains covering all the available windows. My hands immediately went to the curtain and opened them. The carriage stopped and the people outside bowed.

"How can I help you lady Lelia?" Asked what looked like a servant based on her clothes.

"L-lady? Where am I? Who are you? What's happening?" I asked all at once.

The servants all giggled seemingly to be the happiest people alive.

"You don't have to be so modest my lady. You're marrying the Emperor!" The servant answered back.

I shockingly closed the curtain and the carriage started to move once again.

What exactly happened? I questioned myself and started to try and recall what last happened before I passed out.

Flashbacks started to come:

Yet another rejected story, I sighed as I got in my car. I'm giving them everything they're asking for! I thought angrily.

Without even realizing my feet started to press more and more on the accelerator in my car to the point where I was going way over the speed limit. I had no specific location to go to. There's only the need to release my anger and stress.

Suddenly I lost control over my car just as I was on the bridge.

Think! Think! Think! I screamed at myself but nothing came to my mind. There's only me, my car who won't stop, and the sudden bright light that shined from out of nowhere and started to get closer to me.

It was as if it's all planned. My eyes almost got blinded and the car turned right by itself as it fell from the bridge and right into the water.

Struggling.

It's the only thing I seem to know how to do these days. Struggling at work. Struggling financially. Struggling mentally. Struggling emotionally.

And now struggling to get out of the car. My hand found the seatbelt and I quickly pushed it making myself break free from my seat.

It seemed like everything is happening so fast yet in slow motion. The car is drowning faster than my action to get out of the car.

Being a champion in swimming since high school, I was able to swim out of the opening from the top of my car.

I watched as the water swallowed the car. 6500 dollars gone before my eyes.

If I wasn't in this situation right now then I would be sobbing my eyes out. I tried to swim to the surface of the water but my body just wouldn't cooperate.

The only thing I'm good at is going to kill me, I thought as I tried to swim but my body froze.

The need for oxygen caused my body to open my mouth as if it thought I was a fish and could survive under the water.

Water quickly filled up my body. I tried to struggle but I couldn't. The last thing I saw was another girl who looked identical to me in the same exact situation as me but it was a carriage that was sinking instead of a car.

I couldn't hold on any longer as my eyes shut closed.

I should've just ate takeout yesterday, was my last thought.

Back to the present:

I finally remembered what happened. Is this the afterlife? I thought to myself.

"The newly soon-to-be wedded wife has arrived!" A voice called out loudly just as the carriage stopped.

A hand stuck out from the carriage door and I only could guess that they wanted me to grab it. So I did as it gently led me out of the carriage.

Before anything else can happen, the maids gasped and quickly covered my face back the same veil. As I moved forwards to the seemingly endless stairs, the gold hairpins kept making clicking sounds.

Finally, the maids stopped and I was panting like a dog.

Before I can make a move to sit on the floor and rest a bit, the big door in front of me opened.

Cheers were heard from inside and outside the door. And we start to move again.

Seriously? I thought as my knees were about to just give up. I felt twice as heavy because of the dress and endless hairpins and clips.

"The Emperor has made his arrival." A voice called out.

Suddenly everyone got on their knees and bowed down. I was the only one standing now.

Should I also bow do-

Before I can finish my question a hand tugged on my dress roughly causing me to lose balance and fall to my knees.

"I know you don't want this marriage but you still need to pay respect." A soft voice said from behind me.

So she's looking out for me.

"The wedding ceremony shall start." A deep voice shook the ceremony hall.

The maids helped me get up and walk closer towards a figure who was standing before me. I couldn't see what exactly he looked like because of the veil but I could tell he had a huge figure.

I was finally in front of him. We bowed down to the moon, sun, earth, each other, and parents.

Wait, parents?

I looked up to try and get a glimpse of "my" parents but I still couldn't see because of the stupid veil.

"The Emperor and Central Region welcomes the fifth wife of the emperor." The same voice who had made all the prior announcements announced.

I mentally squealed. I'm married to an emperor! I'm married to a money bank! Money! Money! MONEY!

Was all I can think about before a sudden realization hit me like a truck.

FIFTH WIFE?!
