“Guys, I’m not your mom or dad and I’m not going to lecture you but if you guys ever leave that house without anyone knowing again it will not end well.” Megan vowed as she drove back to the house, not even bothering to look back at Niall and I. “And you two, going somewhere without a phone? Are you crazy?” She exclaimed as she pulled into the driveway, Liam and Jordan hung their heads as they exited the car. Once we were inside I was ambushed by Tabby.
“Riley! We have three weeks until the Bieber concert! We aren’t ready at all we are going to the mall tomorrow and shopping!” She squealed as she jumped up and down. “Oh by the way your dad called here and said he and Uncle Bob were going to drive your car down here.” She said as an afterthought as the boys eyes widened. Megan groaned quietly.
“Tabitha Wilma Manns! You can’t keep stuff like that quiet. When did he say he was going to be here?” She asked, as we heard the all too familiar crunch of gravel. Megan muttered something unintelligible under her breath.
“Niall you know that little shed by the deck?” I ask as he nods. “I want you guys to go their until I call you.” I told him with a quick peck on the cheek, as he and the rest of the boys horridly rushed out the door. The girls and I quickly look around the living room and kitchen and sigh, it doesn’t look like anyone else but us has been there. Making my way out to the drive way, I was ambushed.
“Auntie Riwe!” My two year old niece Gwynne exclaimed as she ran into my arms. I picked her up and spun her around, watching as my dad walked up toward us.
“Hi daddy, I didn’t know you were coming down today. Abby didn’t tell me.” I told him with a quick hug, still holding Gwynne in my arms.
“Hu well she said you were in town, and between me, you and Gwnie here, she’d forget her head if it wasn’t attached.” He whispered. I watched as Gwynne’s dark brown eyes light up and she hit my dad’s chest lightly.
“Papaw, you gots to be nice to Auntie Abby.” She told him with as much seriousness that her two year old self could handle. I chuckled and kissed her blonde hair, as Abby came and took her out of my arms.
“Yeah ‘Papaw’ you have to be nice to Auntie Abby.” Tabby told him with a quick hug and a laugh. “So how’s Caleb been?” She asked as Gwynne tugged on her arm to be let down.
“I’ve been good, how about you ladies? How many boys have been here?” He asked as I looked at him, his eyes had bags under them and he looked skinner than I remember. I sighed quietly; I thought he was healthy again. I was brought out of my thinking by Gwynne tugging on my sweat pants, gesturing for me to pick her up.
“Other than Uncle David and Daniel you guys are the only ones here.” Jordan said coming up to us.
“Bobby! Why are you hiding come join the fun!” Megan exclaimed as my uncle climbed out of my Jeep. My uncle, being a man of few words, stood there smiling.
“Do you mind if I use the restroom really quick it was a long drive?” Uncle Bobby asked I saw Megan nod as my uncle went inside.
“Come On dad I’m sure you and Gwynne are hungry.” I told my dad with a smile gesturing to the house as Gwynne laid her head in the crook of my neck. Walking inside I heard something in the kitchen, silently cursing which ever boy it was I handed Gwynne to Abby as I heard my dad take a seat in the living room. Walking into the kitchen I was greeted by the one and only Liam James.
“Liam James! What are you doing in here?” I hissed, watching as the British boys’ cheeks turned a rose color.
“Louis made me come and get snacks. I’m sorry. I’m leaving now I promise.” He said as he grabbed some chips and took off towards the shed. I sighed as I grabbed some water for my dad and Gwynne and went back into the kitchen.
