~Mari's POV~

I looked at him for a sec and saw him turning the other way, is he okay? I could see how awkward he got since I started talking about Adrien, did I say something that upset him or something? I moved my hand towards his hand and put it on top of his; god his hands are sweating so much, this is really weird. I've seen jealousy and envy from Chat when I talk about other boys but this?? I removed my hand from his and moved it towards his face, I slowly pushed his face to look at me again. I missed his eyes.

Wow he looked like a tomato his face was so red, he wouldn't look me in my eyes. "Chat are you okay? You're not getting jealous are you?" I coaxed, usually he has some smart remark back to my teasing but for some reason he was dead silent. I removed my hand from his cheek and faced Paris once again, I love and hate this city. I love protecting it but it can be a real pain in the ass sometimes. I could hear a few lovebirds a few streets down giggling, they sounded so happy.

I wonder if I'm ever gonna get something like that. Someone who I'm always happy with, who reassures me when all hope is lost. I guess that's kinda how Chat is when I'm ladybug, but platonic. The silence between us was too loud compared to the quiet city. I always had a secret love for my balcony view, it gave me peace.

Suddenly I felt Chat get up and turn away once again, I heard him babble"I'll s-see you bomorrow! I mean soharrow! I mean-" he still wouldn't face my way, as if he was too embarrassed? "Tomorrow?" I giggled while opening my hatch to go back to my room, I already knew what Tikki was gonna say when got down there. He didn't say anything else after that; he just left.

I opened my eyes to feel the sun shining on my eyes through the window. I checked my phone, 10:13 am. Suddenly I saw the many missed texts and calls from Alya.

Alya: Girl!! I've texted you 5 times and called 10 times but I guess you're still asleep (not surprised🤓) but since almost everyone's back from vacation we're gonna have a picnic at the park at 10:00 am!! Come and bring macaroons ;)

Oh god. I quickly changed into my day clothes and ran downstairs while almost tripping about 5 times. I grabbed a box of macaroons on display and ran to the park, it was a cool day. I loved weather like this; not too hot, not too cold. I saw my friends together except for Nathaniel and Marc, they must still be on vacation.

They were all laying on a red and white plaid
blanket, it was huge.

Chloe was laying down while Sabrina was next to her giving Chloe whatever refreshment she could ask for, Alix and some random girl were doing a hotdog eating competition, Juleka and Rose were picking some flowers on the side, Alya was resting her head in Nino's lap while he was reading her comic books, Ivan and Max were doing some sort of race (which Max was obviously dragged into) while Mylene was the witness to see who would finish first, Lila was on her phone probably tweeting about something, and Adrien and Luka were laughing about god knows what.

I froze in shock, seeing them together felt off, like two different worlds combining. One world filled with adventure and surprise and the other with warmth and happiness. You can guess which is which on your own.

"Marinette you're finally here! And so are the macaroons!!" Alya shouted from afar, I saw Adrien and Luka's head both turn at the same time to see me.

I started walking over and sat down next to Alya, I can always count on her to know what's going on. "So... what's that?" I whispered while pointing at Adrien and Luka. "Honestly I have no idea, they were all friendly since we got here... kinda weird." Alya replied while moving her head up from Ninos lap to face me.

I suddenly felt a hand grab mine, it felt familiar. I looked up to see Adrien blushing like a school girl, he wasn't looking into my eyes. God what is going on with blonde's not even looking at me anymore.

"Marinette, can we salk? I mean talk!" stuttered, "Yeah sure.." I said while staring wide at Alya, she looked even more confused than me.
