Aurora

First day of the senior year.

I am not at all prepared to resume the routine, and, at the same time, in complete ecstasy to end this martyrdom that is the school. Here I am, sitting on the bed looking at nothing looking like a disheveled crazy and not at all prepared for today. I can only hear my father calling me, but my thoughts are so far away that I don't even pay attention to answering. I have so many things to do today, choose my schedules, talk to the advisor...

— Oh shit, I have training with Nevio in the afternoon! — I thought while I was making a mental schedule of my day.

— Damn it, Aurora, I'm going in — My father said invading my room with his hand covering his eyes.

— Oh no, I don't believe it, I don't have privacy in this house anymore — I say while I'm getting up and go towards the bathroom.

— I do not believe that you aren't ready yet, you will be late on the first day, this is a bad precedent. You have fifteen minutes to be down there, young lady.

— Shit, I get it.

— Watch your mouth, Aurora, the damn mouth — He leaves the room, but I can still hear him complain — Your daughter is going to drive me crazy — He said to my mother, I could hear her laughing while he complained a little more.

After I finished getting ready, I went downstairs and my mother was sitting with a cup of coffee in her hand while looking at the computer and my father admiring her as if the world around her did not exist.

 — Dad, wipe the drool — I sai as I sat down to eat and my mother laughed.

— Stop bullshit, daughter, eat so we can go.

— No need to worry, Nevio said he would take me — I said while eating and my father looked at me as if he were sending him to death row.

— Your father wanted to take you on the first day, honey — My mother says.

— But Nev-

— It doesn't matter, just call and say that I will take you — He said interrupting me.

— Oh, I don't believe that, Dad, do you want to take me to the living room and talk to my teachers too? — I scoffed.

— If necessary... — He spoke with a frown

— You could take me tomorrow.

— It won't be the same, and I don't want you walking around with Nevio either. I've told you that a million times.

— And it still doesn't change the fact that he is my best friend, you know that.

— I never liked that friendship.

— Then you shouldn't have let me grow up with them.

— You're right — He snorts — It was a bad idea.

Since Nevio and I reached a certain age, my father thought that we shouldn't be friends anymore, because as he said at the time "I don't want that bag of hormones near my daughter", he thinks we have something, but it never happened... That's alright, ONCE, a long time ago, we kissed. But let me get the scenario clear, freshman year, everyone had already kissed, except me, so I had to find a way, Nevio was there and he wasn't against. But we never did anything again and we didn't even talk about it anymore.

— You know this is ridiculous, right?

— You say that now because you don't see the way he looks at you.
