Lessons that day had long been concluded, and begrudgingly, Regulus made his way to the hospital wing to spend the night with the injured Marauder.

What could be so important that he needs the entire night with me to discuss? He began to think carefully. Nothing aside their sudden kiss came to mind.

He had passed the message on to his brother that the missing member of their group had broken two bones and wouldnt be returning to Gryffindor common room that night. Those were James' instructions, as well as to tell them that he needed some time alone that night too.

Reaching the wing was easy enough until a flash of lightning and crash of thunder came from nowhere and caused Regulus to startle. He simply ran the rest of the way.

"Reggie, you showed!" James pointed out comically.

"You told me it was important, so I had no choice."

Madam Pomfrey came out of her office at the sound of the door creeking open.

She spoke softly, "Ah, you're here finally. You can grab a chair for now, and supposing I don't have any unexpected patients, you may take a bed too."

"Thanks Miss!" Another booming sound of thunder almost shut out James' voice, but luckily Madam Pomfrey had wonderful hearing.

"I shall be back early hours of the morning. Mr Black, I have faith that if anything happens you'll come to find me."

And with that, she left the hospital wing.

-!¡!–!¡!–!¡!-

"Remus..."

Sirius slowly rose from his own bed to join his boyfriend in his. He sat down and laid his head softly upon Remus' lap.

"The thunder scaring you babe?" Remus lifted a hand off of his book, and began running it through Sirius' lengthy hair and along his soft face.

"Mhm." He had little response for the question with such an obvious answer, but he proceeded to talk.

"I think James likes my brother..."

"What makes you say that babe?"

Sirius pondered the answer to the slightly more difficult question before giving his reply.

"He's acting how I used to when I first fell for you. Daydreaming, searching through crowds. I don't like it." He said firmly.

"Why's that?" Remus was still distracted by his book.

"Moony please look at me." His boyfriend gladly obeyed. "This is my brother we're talking about. I have to look out for him. Plus, James is basically a brother to me too, so it's just weird."

Remus responded as simply as he could. "If they love eachother, like I love you, there is nothing you can do."

-!¡!–!¡!–!¡!-

"So..."

Regulus was starting to get frustrated that James was avoiding the question that had him staying in the hospital wing with him.

"What was so important that I needed to stay the night with you?" Out of nowhere, he began to feel slightly nauseous at the idea of an answer.

"Well- about what happened..." Truthfully, James wasn't sure how he wanted to word his thoughts. So he settled for the first ones that came to mind. "We kissed. It was sudden and um- unexpected? But it... it was also... nice."

James! Just get your thoughts together, dammit. It was confusing him. No one had really made him feel anything like this before. It was kind of- soothing, and magical.

Regulus knew they had to talk about the kiss sometime. He just wasn't sure how to be coherent.

"James... I told you that I might be gay. You were one who ran after me!" His voice was a muffled shout. In honesty, being so intimate with someone of the same gender scared the living hell out of him.

"I wanted to make sure you were okay. You ran off without any explanation and I was worried you might-" James cut himself off abruptly. He shouldn't have even thought it. Regulus wasn't his brother. Or even him.

Regulus had caught on to the sudden stop in conversation.

He eyed James up curiously.

"Worried I might- what?"

"Nothing. Forget I said it."

Genuine concern became etched onto Regulus' face.

"James-"

"I said forget it. Please." The concern that was now on James' face was just as clear, but it was a very different type of concern, almost- fear.

"I'm sorry." Regulus replied simply.

James let out a small tear, completely unaware of that his eyes had even become glazed.

Regulus leaned over, and with his thumb, wiped the tear off of James' rosy cheeks.

"I- um... Something happened a while back, and- I started to-"

He took a careful gulp of air as his eyes forced a light stream of water down his now crimson face.

"I... started to hurt myself. I just d-didn't want to risk you doing anything stupid, okay?"

When he stopped talking, he looked over to see the soft grey eyes of Regulus glancing directly at his own.

Regulus reached over and calmly  took hold of James' hand. It was a small gesture, but to James, it meant the world.

James moved over, as an invitation for the other boy to join him on the bed. Regulus sat next to him and laid down, hugging James. The boys slowly drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

-!¡!–!¡!–!¡!-

The following morning, it was Saturday, the weekend. And so, as Regulus woke up, he looked over at James and let a small smile escape his lips.

Placing a kiss onto James' forehead, he got up and left the hospital wing without another word.

As James woke up an hour later, he find Regulus missing. A sudden wave of worry swept over him. Where has he gone?

That moment, Regulus walked in holding his hands behind his back. A huge but careful smile placed upon his face.
