I could feel Baxter's nervousness fill the truck as we drove towards his home. I wasn't quite sure what to say as he fidgeted with his fingers and his knee bounced quickly. His eyes seemed to focus on nothing facing the window making my worry well more.

"Listen..." I paused to rest my hand on his knee making it still. "If your parents are not home we will be fine, and if they are I will be there I promise your father will not touch you. It will be okay little one, I will protect you." I said softly. He relaxed slightly, but not much, and only replied with a nod of his head. I let out a soft sigh and focused on driving, keeping my hand on his knee. Moon Goddess, give me the strength not to kill his father if he is there. No person should have that much fear of someone who is supposed to love them.

It took twenty minutes to drive to the house and I mentally cheered when there was no car in the driveway. Baxter got out quickly as soon as the truck was parked, and darted into the house. I rushed to follow, finding him in his room pulling out suitcases. It didn't take long to pack everything the small boy owned and I couldn't keep the frown off my face when I realized all his belongings fit in two suitcases and one duffle. He had little to nothing, not enough to keep a young man happy. The sheer thought sent my mind in a tailspin thinking of ways to spoil him without seeming to be disrespectful. It only took one trip to get everything down to the truck so we were in and out in roughly thirty minutes.

"See everything turned out just fine." I told him as I climbed into the driver seat. The large vehicle roared to life and I quickly put it in reverse. While backing out a familiar car turned the corner headed straight for the house. I spared a glance at Baxter to find him looking in the opposite direction, oblivious to the fact his father was headed straight towards us. I kept my mouth shut and turned to drive in the opposite direction, not giving his father a second glance. Three blocks away, my mate turned towards me and grabbed my hand.

"T-thank you again." He murmured as I turned my hand over lacing our fingers together, moving our hands to rest on the middle counsel.

"There is no need to thank me. I'm happy to help and it feels great to have someone else in the apartment." I replied sweetly and flashed him a smile. The further from the house we got the more relaxed he became. I turned onto the highway a smirked at Baxter's confused face. It didn't take long to get off the exit into town and pull into a mall parking lot. His face grew more confused but he unbuckled. "Stay there little one." I said and quickly got out. I walked around the truck and opened hid door with a small bow earning myself a small giggle.

"Why are we here if I can ask?" He asked as he hopped out.

"I need a couple things for our apartment and fixing a couple of the other apartments downstairs." I shut the truck door and grabbed his hand leading him towards the front doors. My truck beeped as we walked far enough away to lock making my little one jump and cling to my arm with a quite eep. I couldn't help but chuckle and pat his head. "Also while I'm here I figured I can get you a couple things to make you feel more at home."

"B-but why? You don't have to do that." He said a little to loudly.

"Because you'll be living with me and I don't want you to feel like a guest, it's your home to and I want you to feel like it." I smiled down at him. "Plus I want to get you a couple things if you go into little space again. I know you aren't to comfortable with it yet but I want you to have at least a couple things, I don't have anything other then the paci I gave you last time."

"Um.. O-okay." He murmured but I couldn't miss his small blush and gleaming smile. "Wait, why did you even have that?" He asked with a hint of jealousy in his voice.

"I know more then one little, I babysit once in a great while for a friend of mine so I had an extra on hand. Don't worry little one." I answered easily as I pet his head lightly. "You have my full undivided attention." His blush grew deeper but he didn't comment back.

I lead him store to store buying the things I needed and anything that even slightly caught his eyes. The last stop made me smile as I lead him into a children's store and he shuffled his feet.

"Go on, pick what you'd like sweetie." I urged him as I lightly pressed my hand on the small of his back. He slowly started to wonder the store, avoiding everyone in embarrassment but he still slowly picked out the stuff he wanted. This time he didn't skip anything, he'd just blush but pick up what he wanted and tuck it in his arm. When he stopped at the stuffies he looked like he was in heaven and I almost cooed at him right there.

"Um how many can I get?" He asked as he started to shuffle his feet again while looking down at his shoes.

"Well how many do you want?" I asked crouching down so he was looking at me not at his shoes.

"All of em" He mumbled with an adorable pout.

"How about we start with five, then as we go on I can get you more." I gave him a smile as he pouted more but nodded his head. "Good boy."

He slowly browsed the stuffed animals until he had a total of 4, now looking between a stuffed piglet and a sloth. He looked conflicted making me bite my lip to stop my chuckles. Slowly he set the sloth down and nodded before tucking the piglet with his other things.

We are so coming back for that later right? My wolf asked me out of the blue. Please.

Yes we are. Don't worry. I commented back as he made his way over to me. He shyly shuffled the stuff around and looked up at me in happiness.

"T-thank you. I never felt safe to having this kind of stuff." He smiled even though I could see the pain in his eyes. "So thank you and sorry if I went overboard."

"No baby, you didn't go overboard and I'm happy I could get you stuff. Now lets go pay for this and we can head home." I replied wrapping a arm around him. He gave me a small nod and we made our way over to the registers. We ended up with three sippy cups, two bottles, a fuzzy blankie, two paci clips, and his five stuffies which consisted of a piglet, a dinosaur, a baby yoda, a elephant, and a wolf. I chuckled at the random choices but just let him have what made him happy.
