That night, Eden did something she never had before.

With her hair twisted up onto her head, she padded the cottage floor with bare feet. Charlie hadn't bothered to look away from his papers.

"You all packed up?" She sat down beside. "We'll be leaving first thing."

She reached for his hand. "Charlie?"

"Hm?" She pulled down the paper.

"You're family is going to know that we're not engaged."

He shrugged. "I don't think so."

"Well, I do. How do you expect them to think we're in love and living together, when we've never kissed?"

"My mother thinks I'm just shy or whatever." He waved her off. "So that'll take care of that."

"Or..."

"Or?"

"Forget it, Weasley." She lifted herself off the couch with a huff. He pulled her back in and onto his lap.

A large hand covered the side of her face, and with his other he held her back.

"There's no going back from this."

She gripped the sides of his shirt. "Exactly."

This kiss was different from all others. Finally she had a choice. And her choice felt good.

Charlie held onto her, and she held onto him. They broke a part, noses touching.

Their breathing labored. They started things back up. As she gripped his neck, he played with the ends of her shirt. His shirt.

She stopped, just after he softly bit her bottom lip.

She stood up, and he followed, moving in close. She placed a hand on his chest, stopping him.

"See you in the morning, Charlie." She smiled. He came after her, arm leaning against the door frame.

"This doesn't have to be good night."

"No, I suppose it doesn't." She took a step in, and he took one forward. She kicked the door with her heel, closing him off. Grinning and warm, she spoke into the wood.

"How do you expect me to go to sleep now?"

"Take a cold bath."

"That won't help much." He pleaded on the other side. "How about just one more?"

"That's why I'm on this side of the door, Charlie. I like you wanting more."

Approaching the burrow, they paused. The noise could have been heard a mile out.

He caught her hand comfortably. "Come now. It won't be so bad." He offered a playful smile. "Just remember we're madly in love."

Recalling the kiss from the previous night, the way she'd taunted, Charlie knew he'd have little trouble playing his part.
