That was what I felt when I reached my home. I thanked driver Kaka before getting out of the car.
I was passing by the beautifully maintained garden in the front, only to be greeted by our housekeeper - Sheela Aunty. She was the only person beside driver Kaka and the gardener who takes care of the house. Not to forget, she is a sweet person.
" Hi golu! How was school? ", She inquired. " It was gooooOood ! ", I sang with a full-blown smile.
" Aunty, where's ma? ", I asked. " She is inside beta, go go. ", She shooed me in.
Ms Devika Varma, 45 years old. Owns an NGO for the orphans.
As I entered my home, my mom sat there rather enthusiastically. She was literally jumping on her seat. I had been seeing this for the past 2 years.
As I had said earlier, my mom Ms Devika Varma is a divorcee and, I am not really her daughter though, but she always considered me as her own blood.
Now, coming to the point, this enthusiastic version of my mom started 2 years ago. She had this event in the orphanage where big business tycoons came to invest their money in her NGO. It was an annual event, besides the Diwali and Christmas functions that she holds every year. I visit the event every year, as it is so much fun to hang out with those kids in the orphanage.
But, that year, I couldn't go there as I had my 8th-grade exams. And that night when she came home she was all giggly. From then on she became 25 per cent more active and happy. She began daydreaming a lot, always had this smile etched on her face and always giggling at silly things and stuff.
She was like a teenager to be precise !!
Whenever I asked her about this, she would simply shrug off, only raising my suspicions. One day I confronted her about this. It was a pretty heated argument. We never fought like that before. Before things could take a bad turn, she spat the truth - SHE WAS IN LOVE !!
But, again she deserves all the happiness in the world after what she had gone through. She maybe 30 years older than me, but she is always this child at heart. Anyways, as for her boyfriend or what I call' Mr X ', I have no idea as to who it is. She is so secretive about him. I even tried sneaking her phone and checking the contact list but to no avail.
I have been trying to find out about her mystery boyfriend for the past 1½ years, but it always ends up in failure. Even my friends couldn't help in this matter.
Right now, she is literally jumping on the sofa like a person who won a lottery.
" Ma? ", I called out softly to make sure I don't get hit by her actions. " Oh !!!! Sweetheart !!!!! ", she yelled while tackling me in a bone-crushing hug.
