Alice walked out of the RIVW building and let out a sigh of relief. She did it. She kicked the other applicant's asses and got this damn job! It wasn't an easy task to beat almost ten people with much bigger experience in such work, but she managed to do it.

The second she walked into the office and the interview was about to start, she promised herself to be 100% honest with the employers. She had told them about her son and the way she struggled to graduate high school with high grades, about the journalist course, and the meantime jobs she took to provide her son as much prosperity as she was able to.

She also confessed what happened to her right hand that was tightly wrapped in a bandage. Her cheeks flushed when the truth about the words 'my ex-boyfriend grabbed my hand a little bit too roughly' came out of her mouth.

She was more than surprised when the employers were truly sorry about what had happened to her as well as when she saw the smile forming across their faces once she finally told them more about all of her advantages and achievements.

As it turned out, honesty with employers was her ticket to the win. They appreciated it a lot since most of the applicants weren't this open about their lives what mainly caused some misunderstandings. If it wasn't about someone who needed to take a day off all of sudden, because of an ill kid, the employer had no idea about, then it was about someone, who lived in the suburbs and had always come to work late.

But it was different with Alice. She made explained her situation very loud and clear, hoping that it wouldn't cross her out of the list. Despite honesty, the employers had seen so much potential in her, it would be a crime not to allow her to show what she can do.

And there she was, the new RIVW assistant, walking down the Riverdale streets with the most charming smile and the mysterious spark in her ocean blue eyes.

Although there was so hot outside that her skin was almost burning, she wanted to get to Andrews household as soon as possible to share the news with both Mary and Charlie.

The shiver went through her spine, once she passed the Riverdale Register. Even though there was nothing to worry about when Charles wasn't around her, the thought of bumping into Hal wasn't exactly what she wanted to happen right now.

Alice quickly made her way towards the front door of Fred's house. She couldn't hide the excitement and happiness, so when Mary opened the door, she knew, that the job interview went well.

"I got the job!" Alice exclaimed happily and wrapped her arms around Mary, letting out a sweet chuckle.

"Thank you so much, Mary. I don't know what I would do without your help." She pulled back a little and grabbed Mary's hands into hers, feeling her eyes started to fill with happy tears.

Truthfully, she hadn't believed that someone could be so kind to her when she returned to Riverdale. But there she was, standing in front of a woman, who did her best to help Alice find a job and took care of her son, without hesitating.

"Anytime, Alice." Mary smiled widely and stroked Alice's palms with her thumbs, assuring her, that she didn't need to feel like she owes her something.

"Mom, come here! We baked the chocolate cookies with auntie Mary!" Alice gazed at her son the second she heard his sweet voice.

She could see the chocolate in the corners of his lips. Seemed like he truly enjoyed Mary's cookies as well as her company. Without a doubt, he had a great time in Andrew's household.

"Come here, baby. I have some news." Alice kneeled and gestured for Charles to come closer. He gladly walked to his mother and let out a chuckle when she kissed his cheek sweetly, leaving a mark from her lipstick on his soft skin.
