Chapter 20
Chaos

"It's me, Win..." Luke said after he removed his mask. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you..."

Even though I was a bit relieved that it was him who was behind the mask, I was still feeling nervous and a little terrified since I have no idea why is he even doing this. What was all this for? Why did he need to act as if he was kidnapping me? Why didn't he just talk to me normally?

"L-Luke!?" I exclaimed, "What the hell are you doing? And what the hell is all of this?!"

I saw him tightened his grip on the steering wheel as if he was mad about something. It's already midnight and almost all of the establishments are now closed, but he continued to drive.

"I-I'm so sorry, Win... I'm very, very sorry..."

My eyebrows furrowed, "What are you talking about?! What are you saying sorry for? Is this some kind of prank on me, Luke? Because I swear, it's not funny!"

He chuckled but there was no trace of humor on it. "How I wish it was only like that..."

"Then, what is this?! What are you doing and why are you doing this, Luke!"

"I shouldn't have asked for his help... I shouldn't have..." He said out loud, but it seemed like he was saying it to himself. "I didn't know it would turn out like this. If only I'd known... I shouldn't have asked for his help."

I held onto the edge of my seat when I felt him hit the gas harder, speeding up the car. It was a good thing that there weren't a lot of vehicles around this time, or else we would've hit them all already.

I looked at him with confusion in my eyes. "Luke, slow down, please! And what do you mean by that? What help are you talking about?"

His eyes remained in front, seriously driving to who knows where, and took a deep breath before saying, "It's time I tell you everything..."

My heart raced fast and loud as I stared at him, waiting for his next moves. The dark circles under his eyes became more evident as lights from the street lit his face.

This wasn't the man that I grew up with. This wasn't the person that I have known for a long time. The Luke that I know wouldn't do this kind of thing and he sure wouldn't do anything that would harm his friends. He has helped me a lot throughout the years and for him to kidnap and harm me right now wouldn't make any sense.

But no matter how hard I try to think of what I have done to Luke for him to do this to me, there wasn't anything I could think of. And it only scared me more that he actually looked serious right now. It's time I know everything? Everything about what?

Suddenly, I was reminded of the threats I have been receiving. How he looked like a mess these past few weeks. How he started acting weird towards me, and how he started neglecting his work, just like Mew said. Suddenly, it all made sense. W-Was it him, then? Was he the one doing this all to me? Was he the one who threatened me? But... for what?

I glanced at the rearview mirror to see his face, his eyes were dark—anger, fright, and sadness were written all over them.

He has my bag in front so, I can't really contact anyone right now since my phone is there. I really can't escape anywhere too since the car was running fast and an attempt to jump out of it would leave me dead.  I bit my lips. He really planned this well, huh?
