Paul was keen on not telling her where he was taking her for the date.
"I'm relieved that this is finally happening," he sighed, "I have been planning this for so long. Do you know how hard has it been to keep it from you?"
She chuckled in response. "I'm sure it couldn't have been easy when we can literally each other's thoughts,"
He nodded. "Yeah, exactly, and Jared knows too. I had to keep him from ruining the surprise too, you know how much of an idiot he is,"
Given that Forks wasn't that big of a town, they reached their destination fairly quickly. "Shut up!" Mia exclaimed and hurried off the car.
They had stopped in front of the donut shop she loved. The one where Bella got her some when she was injured from the fight back at the beginning of the summer.
"One point to Paul," he muttered to himself as he trailed after her. She giggled and reached out her hand for him to hold.
They entered the shop. The place had a couple of tables outside and two inside. They opted for the outside ones as it was too hot inside the shop.
"This was just what I needed after today," she said before taking a big bite out of the donut she was holding.
Whenever she was with him everything else faded away. She didn't even think about the bad things that happened today.
He watched her with a smile. "Do you want to talk about it?"
She shook her head. "No, I rather not," she replied. "You talk, how is not having to go to school anymore?"
He chuckled at that. "It wasn't like I went that much before, babe,"
She furrowed her brows.
"Ah, well, I was known to cut class long before the pack,"
"Oh, do I have a bad boy at my hands?" she replied with a smirk.
"You sure do,"
They each devoured another donut. "Okay, let's stick to the rules," he sighed and looked at her. "It's a first date, tell me about yourself,"
Mia cocked an eyebrow. "Seriously?" she chuckled. He nodded. "Okay," she said and leaned on the table with her hands beneath her chin. "My name is Mia. I have an older sister who just got married. Our Dad's a cop. My Mom's a nurse. I was born in Seattle and lived there until high school. I like superhero stuff and whatever has fantasy in it,"
That was supposed to cover what you would normally say on a first date.
He furrowed his brows funnily. "I have never heard you just say superhero stuff,"
She snorted. "Do you want me to get into it? I can. It's not very first dately though,"
"Let's save it for the second one then," he winked.
Oh, he was good. He had set her up. "Deal," she said. "Your turn,"
He leaned back in his seat. "Well, I was raised by a single parent too. Mostly. I used to live in Spokane until I was eight but my Dad brought me here in the summers since I was five. Parents split up and Dad and I moved here,"
Mia hummed after he was finished. "Your interests? What do you like?"
He grinned in what Mia always described as his douchebag face. "You,"
She tried to hold in her snort and broke into laughter. "You didn't just do that,"
"Oh, yeah, I so did,"
