You and Spencer don't really talk after your coffee shop meeting but he is at your door on Tuesday morning like clockwork. You looked at him in shock, you figured since you haven't spoken all week he had decided that he didn't want to go through with this and you were stuck again.

"Spencer?" You say. "What're you doing here?"

"The appointment is today, no?"

"I just assumed you were out when I didn't hear from you for days." You say, kinda bitterly but he did leave you hanging.

"I had to think about it." He says, defensively. "And I decided that, I'm getting older so the odds of me getting married and having a kid are getting slimmer and slimmer and I want one. While this isn't really an ideal situation, you seem adequate enough to do this with."

"Wow, adequate?" You say. "You really know how to make a girl swoon, huh, Dr. Reid. Come on, then. You're going to make me late."

You and Spencer pile into your car and on your way to the Clinic he decides to bombard you with questions.

"Do you have any conditions that can be passed on?"

You shake your head. "Not really, my dad's got a blood pressure issue but that's his diet not genetics."

"And you know about–?"

"Your mom?" You cut him off. "Yes, I know Spencer, I'm not worried about it."

"But it could be genetic?" He says, awkwardly. "I'd understand if you didn't want to do this anymore."

"No, Spencer. We're in this now. I want this and now, I want it with you." You say, reassuring him. "Would you love our child any less if they ended up schizophrenic?"

"No, of course not."

"Great, because neither will I."

When you get to the fertility clinic, Spencer only proceeds to annoy you more. Leg shaking as he rattled off fact after fact in your ear about the female reproductive system, a subject you really didn't need more information on.

"Spencer, you haven't stopped talking since we got here." You say.

"I know, I can't stop. I'm nervous." Spencer said looking around. "It just became a lot more real."

You placed a hand on Spencer's. "It's not real until you actually knock me up, so you can chill out for now."

Spencer just levels you with an annoyed look. "That helped me none."

"I wasn't trying to help." You say as you heard your name being called. You and Spencer get up and head into the Office of Dr. Elizabeth, your OBGYN.

"Hey, Y/N it's nice to see you again. And is this the boyfriend?"

You and Spencer look at each other in horror, shaking your heads. "No he's just the donor. We were wondering about our insemination options."

"Absolutely. So you have a couple of options, there's in vitro where we would harvest the egg and sperm, fertilize it in a lab and then put it into the uterus. The thing about that process though, you're going to be put on more hormones than you're already taking for months before the body is ready to produce a harvestable egg, and that's a lot of money for not only the hormones but the process itself. You're looking at about 15,000 dollars." You choke when you hear that, Spencer gulps audibly. "Then there's insemination, which we'll track your ovulation, take a sample from dad here, and see what we can do. The thing about this process though it's never guaranteed to happen and it's also expensive and those bills add up. Do you have any more questions for me?" She says, smiling.
