You watched Spencer's leg bounce for the 800th time in 2 minutes when you finally snapped, grabbing a Popsicle stick from the doctor's station next to the check up bed you seated on and chucking it at him. He fumbles when it hits actually managing to catch it before it hits the floor. He looks at you hurt for a second.
"You being nervous is going to make me nervous. Knock it off!"
"I can't help it, we could be having a child right now!" He exclaims.
"Is that not what we've been doing the whole time?"
"It is, It just feels real. We created something beautiful." He says looking at you softly. You can't help but give him a soft look back.
"We don't know if we created anything at all, nerd." You say. "Dr. Liz hasn't come back yet."
"Doesn't matter, I can feel it." He says, grabbing your hands with his own. "We're going to be parents." He squeezes your hand in excitement and you can't help but squeeze back. When the doctor comes back in, Spencer's hand is still in yours you let go to turn to her. She's smiling at you guys while you look at her in anticipation.
"You're pregnant, Y/N." She says.
Dr. Liz might as well have said you had glass bones that appointment, judging by how Spencer was acting. The first couple of weeks into your pregnancy, Spencer was over almost every night, bringing you dinner and doing tasks you needed done around the house. You tried to tell him that you were just pregnant not unable but he would always hit you back with
"The first trimester is actually the trickiest part of pregnancy. I don't want to give you any added stress."
"What if you in my space constantly is what's making me stressed?" You say it jokingly until you see the completely hurt expression that crosses Spencer's face.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Y/N. I can leave..." He says, awkwardly.
"Oh my god, Spencer I was kidding." You say, looking him in the eyes. "If I didn't at least like spending time with you a little bit, we wouldn't be doing this, ok? We're friends... even if you annoy me beyond belief sometimes."
"We're friends?" He asks.
"Well, after everything these past couple of months and everything we're about to do. Yea, I'd say you're my friend, Spencer."
He smiles in that adorable way. It makes you mad at how much your knees weaken at the site of it. "You're my friend too." He whispers.
"Great, can we watch Beauty and the Beast now?"
————————————————————————-
You're coming up on 3 months pregnant now. You're not showing as much as you thought you would be. You didn't have to buy full on maternity clothes just yet but you did have to go up a size. It just looked like you put on a little bit of extra weight which thankfully wasn't surprising and no one asked you about it.
You and Spencer still haven't told anyone about the pregnancy but you had a plan to do so the next time you and the team went out for dinner or to Rossi's. Unfortunately, work had been so busy that you guys rarely had the downtime so it never was the right time. You were starting to feel bad because you hadn't told Penny yet. As far she knew you guys we're still trying through the clinic and you were starting to feel antsy. It felt wrong to keep a secret from your best friend for this long.
The two of you were presenting a case. 4 women had gone missing in the greater DC area from nightclubs and their bodies were found the following day wrapped in saran wrap in alleyways. The police had a fairly good idea of who it was but he somehow kept evading them.
