The Alpha's Mermaid Princess

Chapter 1: Birthday

This is my first story ever, so please don't judge too harshly.

My name is Cordelia. Today is my birthday, and my mother is going to give me a secret trip to the surface later today. I'm so excited. I can't wait. I am currently getting ready for the day. I just put my dress on over my tail. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm a mermaid.  I go downstairs to see my six older brothers fighting over food. And they call me a immature.

After breakfast, we went for a nice swim around the kingdom. I guess I forgot to mention that my dad is King Poseidon. He takes us on these swims daily to see how the kingdom is doing and to spend time with his family while doing it. My brother Henry is going to be inheriting the throne after father steps down. While we were walking I saw my best friend, Pearl, looking at a boy and she looked scared. I swam up to father asking him if I could go see Pearl really quickly, and course he granted his "little" princess permission to go and speak to her best friend. When I got to Pearl she was still looking at the boy, so I tapped her shoulder to snap her out of it. When she looked at me she blushed because she had been caught staring at a boy. "What's wrong Pearl. Who is that guy?" I asked. "I don't know I've never seen him before." She answered. "Then why were you staring at him?" I asked once more. "He gives me the creeps, so I want to keep my eye on him. I was staring because I don't want him to swim away without me seeing it." She answered again. "Why does he scare you?" I wondered. "I wish I knew." She answered deep in thought. When I looked at the guy he was staring at me and didn't bother to look away when I caught him. I realized that she was right, he is creepy. I told Pearl that I would be right back and I went to ask my dad who he was. "Dad who is that boy over there?" I wondered. "He is someone that we found after a shark had attacked him. He was lucky to be alive." He explained. "Did you do a background check on him."  I asked. "I have Jimmy working on it." He said. Jimmy is my dads right hand man. "Can you have someone watch him until the background check come back? He gives me the creeps." I asked. "Sure, but I don't know why he gives you the creeps." He wondered. "Neither do I, but he does, and I always trust my instincts." I explained to him. He immediately understood.

After the talk with my father I went back home to eat dinner. Immediately after dinner I got dragged outside to my party, and I have to say they went all out for my 18th birthday. I excused my self so I could get properly dressed for the party. When I came back down I found the guy from earlier staring at me as I descended the stairs. I decided to go up and talk to him, see if I can figure anything out about him. He looked very surprised when I walked up to him. "Hey." I said trying to be friendly. He put on an obviously fake smile and said "Hello." Why is he so formal. Ugh, never mind. "I'm princess Cordelia, and who might you be?" I asked. He said "Justin." I wonder is that's his real name. "Well it's nice to meet you Justin." I said trying again to sound friendly. I don't think he bought it though because he said "Yes, it is isn't it." Which was pretty weird because he said it as if he already knew me. I have to admit though he does look kinda familiar. I can't quite put my finger on it though.

A few hours after the party mom snuck into my room and told me to get ready, so I got dressed. I knew instantly what was going on, so I hurriedly put on some proper clothes. I followed my mother up to the surface, and just stared up at the stars for a while. After about 30 minutes mother said that we had to go back down, but I didn't want to. She said that we would try to do this again some time soon. I told her that we better because that was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen. When we got back down I saw Justin leaving the palace, so I caught up to him and asked him why he was up so late. He asked me the same thing, but I used the old "I asked you first" trick. He told me that he was just going on a little swim because he couldn't sleep. I told him that that was a coincidence considering I was doing the same thing, but that that didn't explain why he was coming out of the palace. He said that he thought he heard a noise, but he was wrong so he left. I said ok and that was that. Later that night there was a lot of ruckus outside the palace, so I looked out my window and saw that we were being attacked. A second later there was a knock on my door. When I opened the door my mother, father, and six brothers stood on the other side. I haven't really seen my brothers today. I guess the swim took longer than expected. They dragged me outside and told me that me and my brothers were going to live with aunt Sara in California until they got Hades out of the kingdom. Father also warned us that we would be living right next door to the Crescent Moon pack and to be extra careful around them because of how big their pack is. After we talked I started packing the important stuff. My mermaid necklace, and some clothes to change into just in case we aren't wearing any clothes. After I was done packing me and my brothers set off for California.
