"Now you guys listen up! There's still a little bit of time left! What do you think the message is that the author is trying to—*brrrrring*" The middle aged teacher is cut off by the ringing of the school bell, all of her students grabbing their things and shuffling out of the classroom.

Mrs. Erickson sighs, walking over to her desk and plopping down in her chair. Mrs. Erickson rubs her face in annoyance before standing and turning to her class whiteboard, pulling the cap of one of her markers and jotting down her next class's notes.

"Uh..hi" Mrs. Erickson jumps and drops her marker on the floor as she hears the sudden quiet voice from her side. Mrs. Erickson quickly turns towards the voice, her tense demeanor fading into a peaceful manner.

"Oh! Well hello! How can I help you?" Mrs. Erickson said in the nicest voice she could muster up despite being irritated only an hour into the school day. Mrs. E eyes up the skinny boy standing in front of her before smiling.

"Oh uhm I'm new here. Is this English?" The boy quietly whispers back, fidgeting with his fingers slightly. Mrs. Erickson gasps slightly scaring him a bit. "Oops sorry hun! It's just that I totally forgot. Uhh what's the name? Kyle?" Mrs. E bites her lip in thought.

The silent boy gives a small shy smile. "No. It's Kellin." Kellin makes eye contact with Mrs. E, watching as she makes a big face of realization and holds out her hand. "Well it's wonderful to meet you Kellin. I'm Mrs. Erickson but the students that actually do like me just call me Mrs. E. And yes this is English." Mrs. E smiles.

Kellin smiles back before following Mrs. E's instructions to sit wherever he feels. Kellin looks around the classroom and notices the trash and pencils all over the floor as he walks to the very back of the class, plopping himself down into a seat of the two-seat table and placing his bag next to his chair.

*Brrrrring*

Kellin watches as a group of students walk into the classroom, one or two looking at Kellin while the others make their way to their seats. Kellin feels a presence next to him sit down, turning to look at them. "Hi!" Kellin jumps back as the boy next to him greets him loudly. "Oh hi.." Kellin whispers back, avoiding everybody starting to stare at him as more people crowd into the room.

"I'm Justin! You're the new kid right?"

Kellin nods awkwardly

"Awesome! You gotta sit with me and my friends at lunch today! We've been needing a new member of the crew FOREVEERR!" Justin says excitedly as the second bell rings.

Kellin nods slowly. "I guess."

Justin smiles big before turning to Mrs. E and pulling out his notebook.

This should be fun.
