Clair-

The room is silent, no one daring to talk.

"Argh, come on. You came here for a reason, right? so get on with it." I roll off my tongue and shift my weight. I hate silence. Which is odd because that's really all I hear, besides other crazy people yelling or screaming at guards or invisible people. Sleep isn't something I get often. Or food really. Its stupid, I know I'm really unhealthy. But that's ok. Okay, maybe silence isn't all I hear. In fact, I never hear it, I think I've gotten used to it...and now hearing it..makes me hate it. It's like a movie, that goes all day, and night.

"Uh, right. Clair, I'm Maggie. And me and my daughter are here on an experiment. Will you be willing to participate?" The older one speaks.

I laugh, and its noticeable. "You're really willing to try something with a crazy person? This shall be fun, I'm in. Haven't done anything for awhile." I say while rubbing my hands together, but never once looking up, or making eye contact.

"Um, great. You're coming home with me then." She chirps up. To which I almost choke on an invisible,.... whatever I could choke on. Sounds wrong, haha.

I burst out laughing, who the hell are these people, and what are they trying to get themselves into. "You gotta be crazy." I report.

"No but you are."

Everyone stops talking, even breathing.

"Ooo, so the youngie does speak. Neat." I play laugh.

"And she got balls to. You know, you should be afraid of me, all of you should be. I mean, the old man is, but you two aren't." I speak in the open.

"Im sorry, Billie just doesn't hold her tongue sometimes." The woman replies.

"No you're good, I like it." I smile and bit my lip.

"Riighhtt, so are we leaving with or without her?" Billie asked.

"Well that's up to Clair." Everyone turns to me. My checks heat up from lack of social interactions. But its hidden by my hair, thank god.... I take a minute to think.

"Now why would you wanna bring me home?" I ask curiously.

"Because, we wanna help. See if we can change you. And I don't mean that in a mean way. I hope you take no offense." Maggie darts out.

"Nah, you're good. I'm...I. Sure. But if ya'll kill me or do sum sneaky shit. Im out." I reply shifting my body.

"Great." The woman says.

"If we killed you, you wouldn't be able to leave. No "I'm out" shit could happen." The young girl mumbles, just enough for me to hear. I smile.

"But I'm not leaving without my rings." I speak, losing the smile.

"What?" Maggie sounds confused, but really. Its simple. What I said is simple.

"I.Am.Not.Leaving.Without.My.Rings." I stop each word.

"Oh, Okay. I'll be back then. I gotta fill out papers anyway." She turned around, opens the door and leaves.

Leaving her kid here, with me.

"So, you gonna take these off me or what?" I turn and look at the guard, while moving the chains, making them make noise.
