While Luke & Lilla were talking, Copper heard scratching over at Mr Porter's bakery. "Eh, the Doughnuts must be burning" Copper thought to himself. But a few seconds after, the scratching got louder, and he could see a shadow of another pup over by the fruit stand. "I better go check that out" Copper thought. Copper got up and started walking towards the pup. He was scared, but he wasn't gonna let fear get in the way of his bravery. He got over to the fruit stand. "Stop! Stay still!" Copper growled neverously.
The pup dropped to the ground nervously. "P-p-please don't hurt me, pup" he whimpered nervously. "Hurt you?" Coper asked in confusion. "Yeah, the animal control has been after me for months! They cought my friend yesterday. And when I was trying to protect her, they scratched me!" The pup pawed at his fresh scar. "I'm sorry that happened to you, pup. I saw them take your friend away, I felt bad" Copper whimpered. " let's take you to my human, he's real nice I'm sure he'll fix your leg" Copper conferted the stray pup.
"Luke! I found a pup" Copper called out. Copper & the pup walked over to the boy and his friend. "He looks like a Dalmatian, does he have a collar or any tags?" The boy asked. "No. I'm a stray, and I don't have a name" the pup answered. "Can we bring him home, and we fix his leg, and he can stay with us?" Copper asked. "If my mom allows it, of course!" He replied.
