My biggest qualm,
is that I'm so afraid
I'll only mistreat you

It's a curious thing, the death of a loved one. We all know that our time in this world is limited, and that eventually all of us will end up underneath some sheet, never to wake up again. And yet, it's always a surprise when it happens to someone we know. It's like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there actually is. Your foot falls down, and you feel like you're falling through the air. And in that moment, there is a sickly second of dark surprise as you try and readjust. The way you used to think of things, has changed drastically after just that one moment.

For Treyton, he thought he had experienced that same loss of a loved one. But watching his sister interact with the Mikaelsons, gives him hope that maybe–just maybe– Gianna can readjust her footing and find the will to live again.

A young man watches as the male Originals meet their soulmate, officially, for the first time. The onlooker becomes jealous of the brothers, not just because they've met their soulmate, but also because they get to live the rest of their lives with her.

As the man continues to watch them, he tries to picture himself laying there next to Gianna. He imagines brushing the hair away from her face. And he wonders what it'd feel like to lightly brush his fingers across her cheek. He wants nothing more than to be able to live freely again, with absolutely no strings to the other side. And he plans to find a way to be able to do just that, no matter what it'll cost him.

Little does he know, Esther Mikaelson has a plan. And if the original witch can get his cooperation, then the man might just get what he's hoping for.

Gianna says goodbye to her visitors, and gets ready to sleep. She can feel something pushing at the back of her head as she closes her eyes, but she refuses to open her mind up to any thinking. Because thinking only causes Gianna's mind to constantly spin around like a carousel.

What is it about the night time that makes people overthink everything? Their whole lives, the meaning of their existence? People overthink about why they did that one weird thing in third grade, and why they happen to be dwelling about it now... And it's only ever the bad memories that seem to be nocturnal. It's the insecurities and self-doubt that seem to spring to life at night. But they're louder than they are during the day, and they tend to scream endlessly inside Gianna's head.

As Gianna sleeps, she begins to dream about a young man. He's smiling at her, and the look on his face isn't one she's used to seeing. His brown eyes stare at her in adoration, and as he begins to speak, Gianna is entranced by his voice.
