FUCK. JUST FUCK. WHY SHOULD IT BE ME? That was all running in your mind repeatedly. Thinking about your grandma, you try regaining your composure. You got a quirk exactly as your grandma's.

Back in her time, a monstrous villain who you never knew the name of tried stealing your grandma's quirk when she was just a child, only to be saved by a hero who gave up his life for her and asked her to live on. She took those words with her until now and remained as a normal civilian forgetting her dreams of being a hero and not exposing herself to the world.

A quirk which is perilous as death and beautiful as life remained unknown to the hero society.

And now, you are the one holding onto it and she stills asks you to stick to be remaining unknown and live in peace. Those were her last words to you. But you, on the other hand was eager to grasp your dreams of becoming a hero who you would be proud of, but these chains are shackling you down from reaching your dreams.

You're questioning yourself why you should get your pathetic grandma's quirk and anger burns like a passion inside you, stubborn as hell you look at your right eye which is pitch dark and smile saying, "I will be whoever I want."

Unable to sleep, you get your headphones and blast your '3AM playlist'. You're used to being tired every morning so you gave up trying to forcefully sleep. You watch the sun rise. Suddenly chills went down your spine.

You felt like someone was eagerly watching you, waiting for you to make a move and when you suddenly turn there was no one. You roll your eyes and call out the name, "Dabi...I know you're here!"

And you get a reply from a hooded figure from the corner in your room, "alright...miss psychopath, seems like you're used to me sneaking in and out" he smirked showing his scarred face. "Yeah, you sneak in every morning, of course I would get used to it, burnt nugget," you reply hastily. He smirked at you again saying, "so I guess you had a sleepless night today as well" pointing at your eye bags. "You know me well, big bro."

You fail to notice the disappointed face but he tried his best to not make it obvious. "C'mon, it's already 7:30 in the morning, I'm hungry," he said tiredly. "C'mon downstairs, mom would've probably prepared breakfast," you tiredly tell him already with squinted eyes. He chuckles at your state and carries you on his shoulders all of sudden, taking you downstairs.

You continued to stay unbothered. Your mom looks at you two and gives a light-hearted laugh, and set your plates with sandwiches and a black coffee nearby for your tired ass.

Your family acknowledges dabi as a part of the family, ever since you went missing when you were a 10-year-old child and accidentally bumped into dabi as you were shivering in fear in some abandoned alley which your memory fails to remember, and somewhat dabi, who was a teenager decided to get you home. You don't remember the details exactly but you only remember hugging your mom the next day. He's like a big brother you never had. Being with him always make you feel safe, even though you're capable of saving your own ass.

But you had to agree on one thing, that you and him are one hell of a chaotic sibling duo. You chuckle at the thought and dig into your breakfast, while dabi shakes his head at your stupid face when you chuckled.

He waves goodbye to you and your mom and head outside. You never asked where he always go and stay overnight or his past. You always knew something shouldn't be asked unless you're told. But deep inside, you don't want to make him uncomfortable and make him go further away by questioning everything about him. He spends every morning with your family and that's more than enough, right? You watch his hooded figure moving distant. With a smile you head in backwards to take a shower.

After a quick shower, you pull out your school uniform and admire the top school you're about to enroll in. You pick your black backpack and wear your black thigh-high stockings and boots and make sure you hide your right eye under your hair. You wave your mom a goodbye and pull out your headphones listening to music on your way to U.A.

You text your dad that you're heading to school and it stays delivered. You shove you phone into your side-pocket of your backpack. You realize your dad's always busy, but even on your first step of reaching your dreams? You think about your dad who is a busy detective at the police department who rarely visits home and often leaves the country.

And then your thoughts jump to your mom who always takes her time to make sure you're alright even though she's a doctor who should be spending hours at hospitals treating civilians and injured heroes, but yet she stays and spends her time on you. With parents who are highly contrasting you continue to hope your family stays pieced together.

You tilt you head up and look at the high school you dreamed of enrolling in and walk in proudly, only to be interrupted by a fast wind blowing your way pushing your hair bangs hiding your eye, you quickly set it in place and walk faster.

You always felt insecure of your right eye, because you were bullied all your life just for your right eye, and the fact that your being blinded, always drag your confidence to the very bottom but that isn't enough to stop you.
