The Lost Beauty of Sun (Isla Iñigo Series #1)

Prologue

Not everyone loves waking up early, but me? I always love watching how the sun rise, because just like sun I am shinning in my own way. Because I am Aphrodite the Goddess of beauty and love.

I love being on the spotlight, I love seeing how people adore me with how beautiful I am. No one can resist my charm but don't get me wrong I am also kind and loving Daughter of Alfonso and Carina. I love helping charities and  orphanage because I also want them to shine just like how I shine.

I am independent woman I ask my parents before if I could live away from them because I want to feel the feeling of being alone.

"Tita, nandito pala kayo?" I came here in my parents place just to say hi and stop by for dinner but I didn't know that Tita Fely and Tito Anthon is here too.

"You're still stunning sweety," she smiled brightly as she caressed my shoulder.

"Sino po'ng kasama niyo tita?"she smiled again pero di na siya sumagot dahil nakita kong tumabi ang pangalawa nilang anak na si Evo, nag blush pa siya no'ng makita ako.

He just only smiled, he didn't even greeted me kahit good evening lang. Pero I am happy to see him, I miss hanging out with him and his kuya Von and of course his little bro Novi but I know for sure hindi na naman pupunta si Kuya Von dahil busy na naman.

"Ate Aphro! Ang ganda ganda mo pa rin," he ran towards me then he hugged me. This is Novi that I know, sobrang  sweet niya. He always say that I'm pretty.

"Ang tangkad mo na Novi, mas gumagwapo ka ah! Siguro may nagugustuhan kana 'no?" He just laughed at me.

"Kung ano anong tinuturo mo sa kapatid ko Aphrodite ah, mamaya biglang mag uwi na 'yan nang nililigawan!"  Iniripan ko nalang siya. He's been like that, the usual maiinitin ang ulo.

We all went to our dining table dahil ininvite pala sila ni Mama at Papa para magdinner dito sa bahay. Our families are closest one, dahil since high school mag kakaibigan na sila mama at papa kaya kaming mga anak rin nila naging close na rin.

"Evo, kailan mo liligawan ang anak ko?" My mom joked as she sliced her meat.

Napatigil naman si Evo dahil sa tanong ni mama. I watched his reaction but I just saw a blank expression, well ano pa bang bago everytime na tinatanong siya ng magulang namin kung kailan niya ako liligaw he just only divert the topic into something.

Maybe he don't like me.

Our parents are our biggest shippers. Halos ibugaw na nga nila ako kay Evo eh pero wala pa rin. He always say to me you are like my sister, napaka bait mong kapatid that lead me to think na hanggang doon na lang talaga

But in some point umaasa ako na one day he'll look at me too not like as his sister but as his wife or girlfriend. Too much to ask but  I just only want him for me. Mine only!

Nagkwekwentohan lang sila about business until bigla na namang napunta sa topic na, ano na nga bang real score between the both of us.

"We're friends po, tito." He just said plainly.

"Hindi mo pa gusto 'yong anak ko? May nililigawan ka bang iba? She's pretty, kind maldita lang talaga minsan but I assure you mabait siya." My dad ask habang nakakunot ang noo. He's really curious kung bakit hanggang ngayon friends pa rin kami. Well 9 years na kaming friends, pero getting to know each other na stage pa lang kami, hanggang ngayon.

"Naku naman, Alfonso, syempre wala! Ito may liligawan? 'Di nga niya maligawan 'yang si Aphrodite iba pa kaya." Ngumiti ng pilit si Tita. Ayaw niya lang magkaroon ng tension sa pagitan ng pamilya namin. Everyone knows how powerful we are.

The dinner goes smoothly.  Chikahan tungkol sa mga buhay buhay. I wish someday I will found someone who'll love me just like how my dad's  loves me.

Kuya isn't around tonight 'cause he needs to finish his thesis with his blockmates. Dalawa lang kaming magkapatid kaya sunod sa luho pero kuya Santi is more pressured than me, papa wants kuya to study how he rans our business, dahil siya raw 'yong susunod na tagapag mana. Well me? I took culinary arts because this is what I want. Tumutol din naman si Daddy pero pumayag rin siya dahil sabi ni kuya " let her do what she wants, at kapalit no'n I will manage our business. Just please not Aphro."

"Pa, I have to go. It's getting late na kasi,"  he was about to get his key but I said huwag na dahil kaya ko nang umuwi mag isa.

Nagpaalam na rin sina Tita at Tito kina mama at papa, sumabay na rin ako sakanila palabas ng gate.

"Ihatid na kita sa condo mo." Evo said while playing the key on his palm.

Nagpaalam kami sa magulang niya at sabay na sumakay sa kotse niya.

"Kailan kaya darating 'yong araw na we will be waking up every morning beside the person we love, do cuddle, doing household chores, and going home with the warm embrace coming from our favorite person." Out of nowhere nasabi ko 'yong bagay na 'yon sakaniya. I stared at him waiting for reaction. Napakagwapo niya, gwapo, mabait, may mahahabng pilik mata, may makapal na kilay na bumagay sakaniya, maputi, matangkad, and someone who never get tired listening to me.

"Someday, maybe 4 years from now kapag ok na lahat. I know for sure you'll be the happiest girl." Ngumiti siya at sumilay sa gilid ng labi niya ang kaniyang dimple na dumagdag sa kagwapohan niya.

Wishing it would be you.  I smiled secretly, kung ano ano na namang naiisip ko.

"Thanks sa paghatid, ingat ka pauwi ha?" We both smiled to each other as I waved my hand to him. Sana pag dating ng araw ako na ang iyong magiging pahinga.

Umakyat ako sa kwarto ko at humilata nalang sa kama dahil sobrang pagod talaga ako. Pero agad din akong bumangon dahil naisipan kong tumingala sa langit.

I never liked nights, cause nights remind me that no good things happen at nights, siguro kasi mag isa ako, but this is my choice to live away from my family, to live by my own.

Everynight before I sleep I always study my lessons dahil I wanted to become a exchange student sa ibang bansa dahil kapag nangyari 'yon it will be a big help for me. That's really my dream, to study abroad.
