darkness. a warm kind of darkness. that's what i felt. and also.. the need to pee. 'what happened?'
it was like i was engulfed in the greatest blackness ever created. was i dead? 'did i die after i got saved? no.. i just need to open my eyes.'
and so i did. i slowly opened my eyes and found myself in a white room. a hospital room to be more precise. the moonlight seeped in through the blinds. i felt a homely presence at the top of my thigh and looked to see the top of a familiar head peacefully sleeping on it.
i smiled and lightly patted kageyama's head, accidentally waking him up.
he opened one eye and when he saw my beaming face, his whole body jolted up as he lurched forward and trapped me into a hug.
"woah, calm down jamal, don't pull out the hug." i laughed as i patted his back.
"shut up, dumbass, y/n." he whimpered as he tightened the embrace. but i wasn't going to complain, i liked this.
"..were you the one who saved me?" i quietly asked. it was silent for a bit but he didn't answer. that's how i knew it was him. i smiled and a small tear left my eye. "thank you."
he buried his face in my neck and softly cried. "i'll always be there to save you, dumbass."
the next minute was pure silence - with the occasional sniffle from kageyama - but, the silence was enough the fill the air with kindness and love.
"hey, y/n," he spoke as he pulled away and looked into my eyes. "can i stay with you tonight?"
i gently grabbed his face and put our foreheads together. "please, stay with me for as long as you can."
scooting a little, i made some room for kageyama. i patted the area for him to sit down in and he crawled in the bed with me. he wrapped his arm around my waist and i flinched.
"oh, s-sorry-" he started but i shook my head and laid my head on his lap.
"it's ok. let's sleep now, yeah?" i got comfortable and felt kageyama do the same as he pet my head.
"i'm really glad you're here, i appreciate your whole being y'know." i quietly said as i closed my eyes.
"yeah, same here." kageyama muttered as i drifted asleep.
"..you seriously have no idea how glad i am that you're ok, y/n."
