my name is hinata shoyo. i'm a first year at karasuno high and my best friends are tanaka-senpai, noya-senpai, bakayama, and y/n-chan. 

you might be wondering, why is hinata narrating this chapter? uh well, author-chan felt like mixing it up. if you don't like me you can always just leave..

anyhoo, i'm walking down the street right now to get a surprise gift for our couple. they've been together for almost three months now. 

looking around my surroundings, i saw a sign that makes me laugh out loud every time i see it. chuckling to myself, i said it out loud,

"heh, road work ahead? i sure hope it does~" y/n got that vine embedded into my brain and it just won't leave. i'm not complaining, it's just that literally every time  i see that sign, i die.

now, what kind of gift would those two want? something vine related? like an avocado?? i should've asked my senpai's..

"i'll just go to the supermarket and decide what to get there.." i muttered as i fiddled with my thumbs and walked into the store. 

"welcom- SHOYOOO!!" a hyper-active voice called out and i turned their way to find nishinoya in a uniform waving a pamphlet or something at me. 

i gasped and waved hi. "noya-saaaan!"

he gave me a hard smack on the back and i coughed. "i didn't know you worked here. i didn't think you knew how to work at all.."

noya growled but waved it away. "yeah, yeah. i'm saving up some cash to get a gift for the love birds."

"ooh, that's really nice of you to do-"

"NISHINOYA! what the hell are you doing?! i'm not paying you to talk to customers, get back to work!" an angry voice boomed and the two of us jumped. 

noya frowned and quickly whispered. "that's my manager, surprisingly, her name is karen." i chuckled and soon karen angrily started marching over to us and we split away. 

i quickly ran and hid behind the apple barrel thing and watched as noya got scolded by the angry, kinda buff, karen. 

"she's like a whole other breed, ain't she?" an unfamiliar voice whispered and i jumped back.

i calmed down when i realized it was just a girl my age. sighing, i stood up to meet her eyes- oh. she was taller than me.

"you go to karasuno?" the girl asked as she pointed to my volleyball sweater. i nodded and she put a finger to her chin. "i know we don't know each other but, did you happen to know a guy named mikaela?"

i flinched at his name. "um, yeah i knew him. i guess," she pursed her lips and my eyes widened. "oh god, are you a victim?!"

she raised a brow. "a what? i'm his sister."
