Bernard said while picking up the tray of food resting in front of Reynard.he gave the tray to one of the servants that were standing outside the room before coming back to Reynard side and giving Him a gentle smile.
Reynard was still a bit uncomfortable around the new people,who seem to love and treasure him a lot.but he tried not to let it show, and smiled back while saying.
"Well first I would like to know how long I was in a coma for?"
"It has been ten years since your highness fell into a coma"
[I see ten years huh..]
Reynard started to think about the time that has passed.he remembers that the original Reynard has fallen into a coma at the age of nine which means he is nineteen years old right now.and the original Reynard was six years younger then him in his first life when he was Lucius Marlin the second Prince of the marlin kingdom as well as head of the dark moon guild the best information guild in the continent. Thanks to that he knew of all the important events going on in the continent.this means at this time Lucius is twenty five years old at was the time when he fell in a series illness which threatened his life.
[does that mean I died due to that illness this time? Or is the original Reynard in my body instead?]
Reynard felt a headache coming.he seriously didn't know what was going on. Why was he back in his first world and is in a different body instead of his.so many questions without answers assaulted him making him even more tired and annoyed.looking at Reynard complicated expression Alfred who has been standing to the side spoke with a relaxed face.
"Nothing of importance has happened these past ten years. So your highness does not need to worry so much"
Reynard turned to look at Alfred after hearing his reassurance. He softened his expression and opened his mouth.
"I see.... Oh! Right what of his majesty and the imperial family?"
Reynard asked like he just remembered them.

That's what was on Reynard mind right now and what he remembered from his first life.the emperor of the Kaiser empire was down from illness as well as old age and he did not last very long. the one who took the throne was the first prince Edmond de Kaiser the child of the first queen.other then the first prince the imperial family had the first queen Isabella de Kaiser and second queen Angelina de Kaiser ,the third prince Abel de Kaiser, first princess Veronica de Kaiser and lastly the second princess Mia de Kaiser.
"h-his majesty's condition is not very good from what I heard he does not have much time left"
Stuttered Bernard , turning his gaze away.on the other hand Alfred did not seem to care much.
[that old man is obviously pretending, while Alfred is not even trying to pretend. They sure don't like that emperor]
If he thought about it,the reason for their hatred was obvious.Reynard covered his eyes with his hand and pretended to be shocked at the news.
[if I think about it now that I'm awake won't I be pulled into a fight for the throne. Being the empress only child and all]
Now that he came to that realization, Reynard noticed that he has a lot more on his plate then he thought he did.he needed to get his priorities straight first.
"Your highness should not care about that person after all he never paid your highnesses any attention"
Reynard removed his hand and turned his gaze toward Alfred when he heard that.Alfred had an annoyed expression on his face like he didn't even want to mention that person.
"As rude as it may seem It's not really his majesty that I'm worried about. But more like the troubles his death will result in."
"Ho ho ho your right about that my prince Now that you are awake word will surely spread and your highnesses will be called to the palace. There also the matter of the throne inheritance"
"Are you saying they are going to drag his highness who just woke up from a long into their ridiculous fight for the throne?!!"
"Those shameless nobles will surely do that. They only care about their benefits after all. And his highness who is foolish and weak in their eyes is the perfect target with his noble and strong lineage as well"
Reynard stared at Bernard with eyes filled with amazement.
[this old man sure knows his stuff. Maybe having him near will help]
Reynard felt a bit of relief after realizing how capable Bernard might actually be. he now needed to know how much time he got before the old man kicked the bucket. To organize what he would do before being called to the palace. And how he would proceed in this life.
"Since when did his majesty's condition deteriorate?"
"It has been around a week your highness"
[a week huh? So there will be around a two months or so before the emperor dies. Fair enough, let's think throughly of how to go from now on.]
