Harry, Louis, Jay and Lottie have been walking for an hour now on the Christmas market. They just grabbed a bit.

"Okay, boys. Should we split up? Lottie and I are going to do some shopping. You two have fun." Jay discretely winks at her son, making the boy blush in embarrassment .

"What are we going to do, Lou?" Harry looks at the smaller boy, his emerald green's meeting with Louis' ocean blue's. Louis can't focus on Harry's question. The only thing on his mind are the words that his mother said 'love baby, that's love'. Could he possibly be in love with the American boy? He only knows him for a bit over two months which he spent the first month hating him. He didn't even love Eleanor after 3 years, how can he love Harry after a month?

"Lou?"

"Huh, what?" Louis gets ripped out of his own thoughts.

"I asked what we were going to do. What were you thinking about, baby?" Harry has an amused smile on his face making Louis blush. What can he answer? Thinking about possibly loving you? Nope, that's not going to do it.

"Let's just walk around a bit and see where our feet bring us?" the older boy suggests.

"Fine by me." Harry starts walking but Louis doesn't move.

"Hazza?"

Harry turns around, facing his angel.

"Yes, Lou?"

"Do you think it would be alright for you if we, I don't know, maybe hold hands? I really liked that yesterday." He shyly admits, looking at the snow covered ground.

Harry's heart tightens from hearing the question. Louis is so incredibly cute. It's incredible how only by asking this question Harry feels himself falling more for the guy.

"You don't need to ask, Lou. You can just grab it." He smiles, carefully taking the smaller hand in his.

"I don't know. I thought maybe because we aren't on a date you wouldn't want it. It's stupid I guess. It's not because I am a pathetic person that needs a billion years of time to show any affection in public with a guy that everybody is." Louis feels so incredibly stupid. Of course it would be okay for Harry. He is not the one shitting his pants because the thought of being with a guy scares him.

"You are not pathetic. You are on your way to find yourself and asking me out on a date and wanting to hold my hand are already two really big steps, Lou. You are doing so well and I am so proud of you. Don't ever think I judge you just because it's difficult for you. I'm not judging you, I'm supporting you and every step you take makes me proud." Harry means every single word. He remembers the boy trying to fuck every single girl to push his 'gay' away and it isn't even that long ago. If Louis really wants to hold hands with Harry then Harry thinks it's progress that he asked the boy. He knows how difficult it must have been for the smaller boy to ask him, for sure in public.

"You are so patient with me, Haz. Why?"

Harry stops walking and turns around to face Louis, only a few inches being between them.

"I really like you, Lou. I care so much about you and I've seen you grown. I am so lucky to be here and watch you love yourself first. You are so amazing and it feels like every day I get to know a new part of Louis Tomlinson. I've seen you going from worlds biggest asshole to worlds sweetest cupcake." Harry jokes, pinching his cheeks. "No but I'm serious Louis. You should get to know yourself. You are bloody awesome."

Louis blushes and starts walking again, pulling Harry with him.

"I want to talk at home." Louis says then.

"Sure, talk about what, Louis."

Louis bites his lip and looks for all the courage he can find.

"about us."

--

The whole afternoon Harry and Louis have been walking around the market, seeing some cute Christmas ornaments. Harry bought some presents for Jay that he thinks she would love and Louis bought something for Lottie. Now they are waiting at a stand to order some hot chocolate milk and churros.

"I can't believe we are standing in the que for more food." Louis chuckles thinking about everything they have already eaten today. Those stands are really not good.

"Do you want to share the churros?"

Louis nods. They still have to drive back to Doncaster tonight and he doesn't fancy throwing up in the car. His mother would kill him.

"Yeah, we can share."

Harry orders one portion and two chocolate milks and they stroll.

"I really liked those churros. They were amazing." Harry says after throwing the paper in the garbage can.

"They were good. You have some chocolate on your lip." Louis' thumb is caressing the corner of Harry's lip, making Harry's heart beat faster and gasp for air. Every single time Louis touches him, he feels like electricity is going through his body. The fact that he is nervous about the talk they are going to have at home, doesn't help.

"Thanks." Harry whispers, still staring at the thumb that was touching his lips.

Louis scrapes his throat, breaking the tension.

"I heard there is a really nice ice skating rank here. We should go."

"I have never done that before." Harry admits.

Louis' eyes go big now as he watches the curly lad.

"Let me teach you, love!" the pet name just rolls of his tongue and it makes Harry's smile bigger.

"Yeah, yeah I guess you can teach me. I couldn't imagine a better teacher."

"Or a hotter one." Louis winks. "Now let's go, Hazza! I love ice skating." Louis grabs Harry's hand and leads him to the rank. They might not call this day really a date, but the hand holding, pet names, food sharing and love stares say definitely something else.
