Hello my loves!!! I'm alive! I'm so sorry for going MIA for so long. I dropped a super long, extra-spicy chapter in your laps and straight up disappeared! Thank you for all of the love y'all have been giving The Brighter Dark. I feel like I've been getting notifications every day that someone either voted on a chapter or added the story to their shelves and it absolutely makes my heart soar every time.

I have a lot going on in my life at the moment. As many of you know, I am currently taking classes and teaching full time simultaneously. On top of that, my dog is recovering from surgery (and will be needing two more surgeries in the coming months) and needs a lot of assistance in his recovery. Oh, and did I mention I'm planning my wedding? Never a dull moment in 2021 so far.

But throughout all of this...fanfiction has actually been the biggest comfort to me. Seeing that there's something I'm doing that people love and that I'm proud of has given me so much confidence, especially when I feel like I'm not doing the best that I could be doing in any/all areas of my life. Y'all genuinely make me feel like I'm good at something. I cannot thank you enough for that.

That being said, I will be going on hiatus from posting until sometime in May. I plan to write when I can, but with so many deadlines approaching in April and early May, I know I won't be able to write enough that I can post next month. However, I will be breaking my hiatus to participate in the Creators for Change Sexual Assault Awareness Month auction on April 17th!

The auction hosted by Creators for Change will benefit charities that are working to fight and raise awareness about sexual assault & violence. Items going up for auction span across multiple fandoms and mediums, from hand crafted items and artworks to custom fanfiction one shots!

Here's what I will be offering in the auction-
A custom reader-insert one shot starting at 3k words. This can be romantic, platonic, explicit, non-explicit- whatever you want! I am open to lots and lots of fandoms, but some that I am most familiar with are Star Wars (duh), Marvel, Harry Potter, Disney, Naruto, and My Hero Academia.

Some characters I'd really like to try my hand at writing for are Loki and Draco Malfoy. I love me some sad boys with daddy issues. Also green is my favorite color but that's irrelevant.

If there is a fandom you really want, feel free to ask if I'm familiar with it! If it's an anime, the chances are that I've at least seen some of it. I'll be honest with you if I don't know enough about it that I'm confident I could do it justice in a fanfic.

The bidding will start at $30 for 3k words, and topping out at 8k words. (For example, $30 gets 3k, $40 gets 4k, and so on until it reaches 8k). I really hope to see y'all there! The proceeds from this auction are going towards such an important cause and I'm so excited to play any part I can. There are also lots of talented Kylo fanfic authors participating, including luna-auctor (These Violent Delights), Lady_In_Writing (A Place to Escape), punkandsnacks (Sinnerman) and so many more!!

I have so much planned for The Brighter Dark... I can't wait until I have more time to dedicate to my writing so that I can give y'all the story you deserve. Gray has brought out a side in me that makes me feel so empowered and understood, and I've heard from a few of you that she had a similar impact on y'all. Every time I sit down to write, I jump back into her perspective and I feel like I'm coming alive. It's fucking cool. I feel so connected to all of you because of her <3
