. prologue .

The year 835...

On March 31st...

Deep in the Underground...

Y/N Ackerman was born...

To Levi and Lillian Ackerman...

A/N: I made Y/N's mother's name Lillian but you can change it if you want.

                                                      * * *

"AHHH, LEVI IT HURTS!!! IT REALLY REALLY HURTS!!!" Lillian shouted at the top of her lungs.

"Lillie, you can do it, you're almost there." Levi held her hand as she cried out in pain.

Lillian squeezed the hell out of his hand, but Levi didn't mind.

He would be there for her, always.

"LEVI, I CAN'T DO IT! IT HURTS SO MUCH!!!" Tears were streaming down her face.

"Lillie, listen to me, you'll be okay, just focus and breathe." Levi said reassuringly.

The underground wasn't the best place to have a child, but there weren't any doctors who lived nearby.

Unfortunately, they all lived on the surface.

Isabel and Furlan were there too, although they knew nothing about childbirth, so there wasn't really anything they could do.

It wasn't like Lillian could blame them, since she and Levi didn't have a clue on childbirth either.

"Lillian, you can do it!!" Furlan cheered at the side of the bed.

"Come on Lillian, just push!!" Isabel shouted at the other side of the bed, ready for the baby to come out at anytime.

Suddenly, the sound of soft wailing could be heard.

Levi couldn't believe it, he was now a father, and that rattled him, in a good way, of course.

Furlan wiped Lillian's tears off with a cloth while Isabel wrapped the newborn baby in a worn out blanket.

She carefully handed the baby over to Levi.

"It's a girl, Levi." Isabel spoke softly so the infant wouldn't cry.

Again, he was speechless and no words could come out of his mouth.

He wondered how could he be the father of someone who looked so delicate and innocent.

"She's so..." Levi's gaze met his newborn child.

The baby looked so peaceful to him, it made him smile, and then he looked at Lillian.

"Lillie, are you okay?" He worriedly asked her.

"Yeah... I'm... fine... Levi... thanks..." Lillian said between breaths, "May I... see the baby?"

"Sure, of course." He carefully handed the baby over to Lillian.

"WAAAHHH~~~!!!" The baby started to cry loudly in Lillian's arms, which startled everyone in the room.

Furlan chuckled, "Lillian, I don't think the baby likes you very much."

Lillian's breathing returned to normal and she smiled, "Shut up, Furlan. That's not-"

Then an idea came to Lillian's mind.

"Levi, I want to test something. Can you hold the baby for me?" She asked.

He looked puzzled, but he took the crying newborn into his arms.

Surprisingly, the baby stopped crying and cooed while her tiny hand gripped Levi's finger.

"Lillie, I think Furlan's right. She's already picked her favorite." Levi joked.

Lillian rolled her eyes and shook her head, "Well, I'm glad that you can find humor in that, Levi, but she'll like me more than you once we get to know each other."

Levi rose a eyebrow, "Is that a bet?"

"No, it's a threat, so you'd better prepare yourself, Levi." Lillian exclaimed.

They all laughed for a few minutes after.

They could all agree that it was a very wholesome moment for them.

"Well, I guess we should get to know one another, hmm?" Levi talked to his newborn and cradled her in his arms.

"Yeah, especially if you want to beat Lillian at that bet." Isabel added.

"Tch, shut up, Isabel... but I'm sure that I'd win anyway." Levi kept his gaze on the newborn.

"EXCUSE ME?? Levi, this means WAR!!" Lillian teased.

"Sure, but you have to agree that It'll be a short one." Furlan smiled.

Levi rocked the baby slightly to get her to sleep.

Lillian taunted, "We'll just see about that! And whose side are you on, Furlan?"

"I think it's pretty obvious, Lillian." Levi interjected.

Lillian rolled her eyes, "At least Isabel's on my side, right?"

"Umm... Well, actually, I think--" Isabel scratched the back of her neck.

"ISABEL??"

"Yeah... yeah, of course." Isabel spoke reassuringly.

"I thought so." Lillian smiled.

"Shh... don't wake the baby up, Lillie." Levi finally looked up at Lillian.

"HAHA, Levi. Very funny, but you can't use that as an excuse!"

"No, I'm not joking, she actually fell asleep. Look." Levi rotated you slightly towards Lillian.

And in Levi's arms, there you were, sound asleep.

Levi smirked, "Does this mean I won-"

"Don't even think about it. I'll find a way to get back at you, Levi."

"Yes, the more important question of the day is, what's her name going to be? You know we can't keep calling her the baby, right?" Isabel rolled her eyes.

"Oh, yeah," Furlan added, "What's her name going to be?"

Levi and Lillian looked at each other with the baby in Levi's arms when he finally spoke.

"Well, we were thinking of... Y/N."
