DREAM

I started my day nice and early, at 5am. I called Nick over to the lobby of our building, to walk me to a meeting.

I preferred my privacy, so I didn't have any chefs or butlers in my penthouse. My mansion in the countryside, however, was a different story. A fifteen bedroom home didn't clean itself, after all.

I tightened the watch around my wrist and headed down the elevator, humming to the soft music. Today was busy, but I liked to enjoy these moments of solitude.

Nick nodded at me as I entered the lobby, and we headed off.

"Why didn't you call a car to pick us up?" He asked, slightly annoyed at the hot sun.

"It's nice out. Let me enjoy the little things in life."

"Fair enough."

We were about two minutes away from the building of our meeting, when I felt a small figure bump into my chest. I looked down, and saw a messy nest of dark brown hair.

He looked up, and I raised my eyebrow. He was pale, but his skin was smooth and flawless. Immediately, I felt an impulse to touch it, but I ignored the feeling. I liked delicate things, and his small frame and innocent eyes drew me in.

He muttered a short apology, and I noticed his British accent. His dark sooty lashes framed his round brown eyes, and I found myself staring. I wasn't sure why he intrigued me so much.

He hurried off, and I took notice of his cheap dress shirt and small phone. Probably one of the programmers at the building next to ours, I thought.

"Hey, Nick?" I asked.

"Yeah?" He immediately replied.

"Did you get a scan of him?" It was convention now for him to take a scan of anyone I made contact with. Security reasons.

"Sure did. Is there something special about him?"

I looked back at his small frame in the street, growing smaller.

"Send it to Sam. He'll know what to do."
