DREAM

We finally landed in Toronto, Canada, getting in a car to drive straight to the hotel. We had half an hour to get settled and take a break, and then it was time for our meetings.

George, after sleeping for almost the entire flight, was happy and wide awake. He rolled down his window, filling the car with wind.

"It smells so nice," he commented, taking a deep breath of the fresh air. "Living in a big city is great and all, but the air is shit."

I laughed. "We're here for two weeks, so make the most of it."

He was right, the air where we were driving was definitely fresh and nice, but unfortunately we'd be spending most of the trip in the downtown area.

We arrived, and I watched George freak out all over again, over the fancy hotel lobby. I don't think I'll ever get tired of spoiling him with expensive things.

We checked in and went to meet our luggage in the hotel room. I let George go in first, watching him admire the huge room.

There were armchairs, a TV, a balcony with a view of the city, as well as a small kitchen and a separate bedroom. There was only one bed, which may have been on purpose, on my part.

"Ew, their mini-fridge has sparkling water?" George called over. "Maybe this isn't a five star hotel."

"Check out the bathroom," I told him. He came over.

"Whoa," he awed, looking at the huge bathtub and shower. "Look, they folded the towels all fancy."

I checked my watch. "I ordered some room service. Have a snack, get dressed, and we'll be on our way."

••••••••••

"So basically, we profit off of dozens of underground casinos, that range from illegal poker games to million-dollar bets on sports events," I explained to George as we rode the elevator to the meeting room. "The Blade, or I guess Technoblade, has been messing them up, but I don't know the details."

"Okay," he answered, organizing his iPad for the meeting. "Who are we seeing right now?"

"My managers for the betting," I replied. "Specifically the in-person betting on brawls and ring fights, which are usually in vulnerable and unguarded areas."

I pushed open the door, and took a seat down at the head of the table, George beside me.

"Sorry for the delay. Shall we start?"
