Chapter 7- Things Just Couldn't Get Worse

I watched them silently. I felt light headed, but didn't dare wrap my arms tighter around the tree; in fear the movement would be seen.

There was my biological mother and father three boys who couldn't have been older then Jake, and a girl who looked about my age.

"Where are we going?" Asked a brown haired boy who seemed the most timid of them all, walking with his head held down.

"Shut up!" Hissed the fiery red haired girl, she smacked his arm hard enough that he yelped.

The boy, Shane glared at the girl in anger "Really Alex? Was that really necessary?" Alex nodded, smiling a smile that wasn't really a smile at all, but a grimace.

From my branch I watched them I felt like a stalker but I had no other choice. My biological father looked up, I pressed tighter into the tree not daring to breath. His eyes were black, cold. They were no longer the eyes I remembered as a baby, no those green eyes were gone. He was a fully turned vampire.

"This seems like an okay spot." my biological father said. "You can still see the sky from here so we'll have some light in the morning when the sun rises."

I watched my biological mother drape her arm around on of the boys I hadn't really paid any attention to until now. He had dark hair... just like mine, and he had the same nose as my biological father.... He was my brother. I almost fell out of the tree in shock.

"Cory?" My biological mother said to my brother. "Can you run ahead to see what no one else is around the area?" Cory nodded once, then he was gone running through the forest. Cory. My brother. I had a brother. A Vampire Brother.

Swear words flowed easily through my mind but I didn't dare speak them, afraid that they would hear me. Full vampires were much stronger then half vampires.

I sat still and quiet waiting for them to do something. "Jade? Derek? Where are we going now?" asked the remaining boy whose name I didn't know. Jade and Derek my biological parents. Oh wonderful I thought sarcastically.

Jade, my biological mother looked at the boy "I think we'll stay here for I while. What do you think Corbin?"

Corbin looked relived "Good." he grunted "My feet hurt I don't want to move for a while."

But wile Corbin looked relieved I, on the other hand was devastated Jade, Derek and Cory all stay and live here? In these woods close to my home? Things just couldn't get worse, but of course it could when they started making camp under my tree!

Cory returned a few minutes later "All's clear." He said sitting down against my tree casually resting his hands behind my head.

I waited and waited for them to fall asleep I planned on making my escape that night because if I didn't, the morning sun would most defiantly reveal me.

There're slowly drying fire provided me with enough light to check my watch it was 3:02 am. I'd been stuck in this tree for over five hours. Jake was going to kill me.

By now he would know I was missing. We would be waiting up for me. He wouldn't have told Bailey and Lexie I was missing, they'd only worry but he would have told Sander he would wait up with him.

I glanced down bellow me jade and Derek were wrapped in each others arms fast asleep. Gross. Alex was sleeping on a clump of grass nearby. Shane was snoring slightly from his balled up state on the ground, Corbin was resting against a tree nearby his hat tugged down over his face.
