Chapter 4- Doesn't everyone hate those awkward, embarrassing moments?

I guess I'd finally fallen asleep again because when I woke up, Sander was gone. I could hear someone making noise in the kitchen. I figured it'd be Sander, he usually couldn't go back to sleep easily after he woke up.

I climbed out of bed my feet gently hitting the floor. I headed into the kitchen only to see Sander standing with his back to me but h turned around when I hugged him.

"Thank you." I whispered. He didn't ay anything but the silence was an answer in itself. I tried to let go but he held me tighter for a few minutes longer. Signing he let me go turning back to his breakfast we was currently making.

The nightmare had made me so sick to my stomach that I wasn't hungry. I went to get dressed instead, knowing if I went back to bed I'd only have twenty more minutes of sleep anyhow, before I'd have to get up. To get ready for school.

Looking in my closet the only thing that stared back were sweaters. I hated being cold. It might have had something to do with almost freezing to death on a highway when I was a baby. I was on the highway for two days before someone stopped to see what was in the box. I was given into the foster child organisation then passed around from family to family, until I found Sander and Jake. They're my family now.

I threw on jeans and a dark blue hoodie. Lexie came into my room took on look at me and sighed, saying, "Typical. So typical."

Jake met me at the door when we all were getting ready to leave. Grinning as me looks at my clothes, "Lexie didn't get to you fast enough this morning?" I shook my head. Bailey, who was standing next to Jake sighed, obviously disappointed I was going to keep my 'new look'. Jake looked at me "Rae, you might want to grab a coat it's getting colder out." Jake knew that I got really cold very fast.

I shook my head. "I'll be fine. Let's just go."

I thought it wouldn't be much colder than the day before, but I was wrong it was freezing. Lexie draped an arm around my shoulder, gently rubbing my arms trying to warm me up because I was shaking so bad.

We arrived at school and they rushed me inside. My frozen fingers and toes screamed in protest the burst of warm air that tried instantly attacked them. I shivered again and Lexie started massaging warmth back into my fingers.

Stating the obvious she said "You're so cold."

Jake grinned but the smile didn't reach his eyes "Told you should have grabbed a coat."

"Here take my sweater until you warm up." I looked soulfully at her pink sweater. She sighed "Do you want to be cold."

Teeth chattering together I mumbled "N-n-n-oo." Lexie was taking off her sweater before I managed to say "N-n-nooo. P-p-pink."

Sander shrugged off his gray sweater "this better?" I nodded and tried to grab it with my numb fingers. See into my difficulties Sander draped the sweater over my shoulders. His sweater was warm and smelt like him. Once I was warm, I pulled out my schedule, hoping desperately that I had French or some other lass that didn't have Jason, but of course I had math. The class where I sat right beside Jason.

Sander looked at me as though he was reading my thoughts. "Come on." he said. Walking down the hall, leaving Lexie and Jake behind.

Jason as waiting outside the classroom, and my blood instantly started to boil. He winked at me then casually reached for my hand. On instinct I pulled my arm out of his reach. He smiled and reached out again only to have Sander step in front of him.
