I looked down at my phone and frowned.

'6:40, they should be here by now.'

I looked back around at my surroundings and caught sight of a sign.

'West Entrance.'

"Of course! Stupid! This is the wrong entrance!"

I walked back into the airport and found my way over to the South entrance, a smile blooming on my face when I saw the person that I'd been waiting for.

"Jace!"

He turned towards me and smiled when he saw me. We met halfway and he brought me into a one-armed hug.

"You're late."

I smiled at that. Ever the blunt one.

"Yeah, sorry. I ended up at the wrong entrance."

He nodded and took my bag, placing it into the trunk of his car, while I climbed into the front passenger side. We had met years ago, back when Katrina and I were out on a date in the suburbs of Brooklyn. He was a good guy- enrolled in the police academy. Moved out here after he graduated.

I pulled out my wallet and fished out the paper with the address on it.

My eye caught the photos tucked into the leather slots and I couldn't help myself as I slid them out slightly.

I smiled at the photo. She was so happy after she said yes, we both were.

That was the photo that the twins had a copy of. Bruce always insisted on having it by their beds. I had always told him that his mum became an angel and was now watching over all of us. He insisted that it was by the bed, so that he could watch over her too.

The other photos made me smile. I slipped the photo of Katrina away and looked at the other two, which had been pushed behind.

One was my son, Bruce. Or, Brucie. That was what my grandparents, myself and Ava all called him. Ava had actually started it and it just stuck.

He looked older than he was. I smiled as I thought about him. In a picture, he may look about ten. But, in person, he hadn't hit puberty and still didn't even reach my shoulder. Lower chest, at tallest. It was actually quite funny. He had a bit of a height complex, so none of us would mention it around him. Lest he become a brat, all pouty and irritable.

I pushed his photo away and looked at the last one. I had wanted a photo of them together, but they would mess around or tickle and pinch, so I could never get a good one. Leading to separate photos. But hey, what were siblings for, if not to annoy you.

Ava, my little Evangeline. Katrina chose her name. She was adamant that our daughter would have something beautiful. A name that she could grow into and bloom with, like a flower. Quite fitting.

Now, you wouldn't think it at a glance but, Ava was the devious one.

She's my little warrior princess. She could get away with anything short of murder and she had myself and her brother both wrapped so tightly around her finger.

But she was an angel, just like her mother. And she's a daddy's girl.

I smiled and tucked her picture away, closing my wallet, as Jace got into the driver's side.

"So, where to?"

I told him the directions to an area near the address and he nodded as he sped away from the airport.

He would be dropping me one town over from the actual place, couldn't have someone following me back to the twins or my grandparents, after all.
