"I'm telling you, she's a distraction,"
"She's not a distraction, you're just against having her!"
"She's distracting half of the team, they did so much better without her!"
"She's carrying our team! She's the key to getting that cup!"
"We don't need her,"
"Yes, we do,"
"It's a man's game, she clearly doesn't fit that requirement,"
"Seriously? Just because she isn't a guy?"
"But you're forgetting that she's taken the spotlight away from our key players,"
"She's not outshining them, they just need to try harder to get to her level,"
"Do you realize how much hate we are getting for adding a female to our team?"
"Do you realize how much more girls look up to her? She's a role model!"
"It doesn't matter,"
"We need that cup, don't we?"
"Well yes, but she isn't the way there,"
"How can you be so sure?"
"My gut tells me that there's something wrong with her,"
"Now you're just making excuses!"
"I think you're forgetting who's in charge here,"
"Sir,"
"Either cut her or I cut you,"
"Please,"
"End of conversation, Trotz,"
Coach Barry Trotz went to his office. He regretted doing it, but he had to.
"Bailey?" Coach said through the phone.
"Yeah, coach?" Bailey asked.
"I'm sorry to say this, but," Coach started.
"What is it?" Bailey asked.
"I was asked to cut you from the team," Coach told her.
Bailey's heart sank.
"Oh," Bailey said.
"I'm so sorry, Bailey, this wasn't my decision," Coach said.
Bailey hung up the phone.
