Song of the Chapter: The First Noel- Frank Sinatra (We love Christmas music hehe)
The first thing I registered the next morning was Draco's arm thrown over me. We hadn't gone far last night, not even close to as far as we might some day go, but far enough that the memory made me blush.
I snuck out of bed to check the time, 11:30.
Then to see if The Three Broomsticks was still open for breakfast, it was.
I sat down at the bar and ordered two stacks of chocolate chip pancakes, Draco's favorite version of the classic pancake.
Almost simultaneously as the pancakes came off the griddle Draco snuck up behind me and threw his arms around my waist, giving my cheek a huge kiss, I could smell his peppermint chapstick already on his lips.
"Good morning!" I said joyfully.
"Good morning Angel," he replied. His voice was still heavy with sleep, telling me he had come straight down here after waking up. He rubbed his eyes tiredly and yawned.
"Oh- and Merry Christmas!" I remembered suddenly.
Draco slapped his forehead, "How could I forget," he joked as if he'd really forgotten.
I turned to the door of The Three Broomsticks to see if it was actively snowing outside and found that it wasn't just snowing but it looked like a full on blizzard. Everything was white, not a speck of color anywhere other than the stray scarf blowing in the wind.
I shivered and felt a bit warmer inside than I had a few seconds ago. I loved the snow but not exactly the sharp biting pain of snow like this.
The pancakes were slid to us across the bar and a bottle of Maple Syrup, the real kind, followed soon after. We ate even though they were still too hot for our mouths to handle.
Our conversation ceased to exist while any scrap of pancake was left on our plates and finally when the pancakes ceased to exist Draco began to speak again.
"What would you like to do today?"
"Well I want to give you my present obviously, it's too snowy to do much outside don't you think?" I replied.
"I agree, it looks like hell wrapped in white out there."
After spending quite some time talking to Madam Rosmerta, the bartender and owner of The Three Broomsticks, we made our way back up to our room. Draco immediately walked to the bed-side table and put on more of his peppermint chapstick, he seemed to understand now that it wasn't meant to be eaten.
"Presents?" Draco asked
"Presents," I replied with a smile, walking over to my bag.
I realized then that I wasn't a great gift wrapper. The rectangle box his present was in should have been easy to neatly wrap but it looked more like a lump than a rectangle.
I smiled sheepishly as I turned back around and Draco burst out into a laughing fit when he saw the gift in my hands.
His of course was perfect, with neat corners and edges that could've cut someone.
"Okay okay enough, let's just do this," I said edgily.
"I'm sorry Angel, truly! I think you're a wonderful... person, but your wrapping skills are terrible."
"Yeah yeah yeah I get it," I rolled my eyes but laughed as he caught me up in his arms and kissed my neck.
I pulled away from him, twisting myself so that our chests were flush against one another.
