Song of the chapter: Wonder- Shawn Mendez.

After Dumbledore had left me stranded in the Great hall I had rolled my eyes and walked to the Slytherin common room where everyone was dancing around in the fire light. They were screaming and drinking firewhiskey from glass beer mugs. I was too nervous after my talk with Dumbledore to be much fun so I walked up the stairs to the dormitories.

I found the room with a number four on the door and pushed it open only to find Malfoy dressed in black silk pajamas pacing the floor.

I stood in astonishment at his thin figure. I'd seen him before but never like this. His hair was messy but still absolutely, infuriatingly perfect.

"What are you doing? Get out!" he yelled when he spotted me.

I turned bright red and ran out as quickly as I possibly could. I then remembered that the girl dormitories were to the right not the left. I'd made a stupid mistake and now Draco would think I'm a creep or something for the rest of the year. I pulled open the door to my dormitory and found it empty except for four beds, four dressers and a heater in the middle of the room.

I changed into my plain cotton shirt and shorts before slipping under the emerald green sheets and comforter. My eyes felt very wet and my cheeks very sticky.

I'm not a sensitive person by any standards but I do cry from time to time. The last time I cried was when a certain Ravenclaw boy sent a bludger flying at my face in a match of "friendly" quidditch last year. Anyway like I said, I'm not a sensitive person but tonight was an exception.

Tonight I was thrown into a group of people who didn't want me. Who actually went to the trouble to make me miserable and all because I didn't fit in anywhere. I never quite knew what my real house was but I was sure, absolutely positive, that it was not Slytherin.

The next morning we got our schedules. A teacher came and passed them out while we ate breakfast in the great hall.

I picked at my eggs and sausage but never took more than a bite per two or three minutes. I couldn't help but notice that Draco had never shown up for his meal. I wondered nervously if he was still thinking about last night as much as I was.

His eyes had a fire in them but they looked terribly tired. His pajamas had hung loosely around his thin body and though his skin was pale as paper, it held a gentle rosy glow when he had passed in front of enough light for me to have gotten a good glance.

My first lesson was, unfortunately, double history of magic which I'd come to hate these past 6 years. Almost everyone skipped class but Professor Binns didn't check the attendance very often and even if he had I doubted he'd care at all.

Because it was our first day of lessons I decided I could be spared the strenuous time spent in the musty classroom for history of magic. Instead I could take a walk around the grounds or go swimming in the black lake. It was still fairly warm in the late mornings and afternoons.

Having decided on this I stood up from my spot at the table and walked down to the dungeons where the Slytherin common room was. A few students sat in leather chairs by the fire or at the small round tables set out in the common room but my dormitory was empty again. I felt the need to take a bag with me on my small adventure.

I grabbed my leather satchel and stuffed my well worn copy of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, into it. Then I added a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans and three licorice wands because my sweet tooth tendencies came and went at all times during the day.

With my satchel over my shoulder and my shoes only halfway on my feet I raced down to the black lake. The big tree where students generally hung out was empty and seemed the perfect place to wait for my double history of magic class to end. After that I had potions with Slughorn who was nice enough as far as I could tell.

I sat down and opened my book starting from where I'd left off two nights before. I'm not quite sure how long it had been with the sun beating down on me before a boy came and stood over me.

"What are you reading there Grey?" Draco taunted. I noticed he had all his cronies behind him.

"Why do you care Malfoy?" I snapped back.

He smirked at me and waved for his friends to leave. They did so very hesitantly and in what seemed like an annoyed air.

"So Grey. First time in Slytherin, maybe you need someone to show you the ropes," he smirked again and winked.

"Maybe. But I think I'd prefer Blaise," I replied thoughtfully. He looked angry so I continued. "He just seems so... levelheaded but dangerous. I think I really fancy him!"

"You think Blaise is more dangerous than me?" Draco snarled.

"I don't know. I haven't seen how dangerous you can be," I smiled tauntingly and got up to leave. I'm sure it was almost time for potions.

Draco didn't try to stop me. Instead he let me walk away but his eyes trailed after me and a few minutes after I walked in the potions door he did too. He glared at me from across the classroom and I rolled my eyes.

"Today we will be learning about liquid luck!" Slughorn said excitedly.

Half the class groaned and the other sat up a little straighter. Draco was making faces at me from across the room. I was pretending to ignore them.

"Draco! Would you care to tell us what liquid luck is?" Slughorn asked with a strict glance.

"A bottle of luck. That's honestly all it is. Exactly what it sounds like," Draco replied rudely. He kept his eyes on me the whole time he spoke and I felt small shivers go down my spine.

"Draco please look people in the eye when you speak to them," Slughorn scolded.

"Yeah alright," Draco said, still only looking at me. By looking I don't mean he was smiling nicely at me. I mean he had on a confident smirk and he would move his eyebrows up tauntingly every time my eyes caught his. It was infuriatingly cute.

In the hallway after class Draco grabbed the strap to my satchel.

"What do you want Malfoy?" I snapped when my whole body flew backwards into his from the jolt his unfriendly movement had made.

"I want you to say I'm dangerous. More dangerous than fucking Blaise for gods sake!" he growled.

"I saw you last night in your silk pajamas your mother bought you. It didn't look very dangerous to me," I remarked snidely.

Draco chose this moment to yank me sideways into an empty boys lavatory. He pushed me against the wall and pinned my hands above my head.

"We will not ever speak about that do you understand?" he snarled. His face was so close to mine it allowed me to see every eyelash. I noticed the way his lips curved into small, soft looking mountains. I noticed that he had a few, very light freckles dotted on his cheeks but I never would've seen them without this lack of space between us. He smelled of peppermint and green apple. A perfume so sweet it made me dizzy but I didn't want it to go away.

"I understand," I whispered. I felt myself flush under the scrutiny of his eyes. His perfect, vividly blue eyes that made me feel weak. The color of a sky on a clear day, a color I could get lost in.

He moved away from my body so fast I slumped down on the wall without his hands to hold me up. He looked at me angrily and stormed out of the lavatory, leaving me on the floor.

I wasn't scared enough to cry but I was too confused to move. I had wanted Draco Malfoy's body against mine. I had wanted him to stay there with me, pushing me up against the wall. Most of all I wanted him to kiss me.

I wanted Draco Malfoy, to kiss me. And that was a dangerous thing.
