05 - The small things

Mave woke up Happy as ever.
She was in love with the black and purple. She threw on a pair of black Fila disruptor sneakers, some blue ripped jeans, and a black oversized shirt with a Chinese writing on it that meant 'Dead to me'. She was going for an edgy look but in her style so she threw on a bag wire chain and glossed her lips with some lipgloss.

Running outside to Amy's car she let out two strands of locs at the front and took her bag off to sit in the car. "Well u had a change in style," Calem said admiring Mave's new look, "thanks," Mave said as her friends complimented her. "Oh, can u stop at the casino? I have to collect my phone.", they stopped at the casino and Jevy handed her the phone.

"Thanks, Jev later!" She said as the car drove back off. "Jevv short for Jevyy," said Moya to Mave as she giggled, "yes he's the boy I like". "Then what are u gonna do about Jordan?" Amy asked.
Mave didn't even remember about Jordan... he hasn't replied to any of her texts. "I don't know, I think he ghosted me after I ran left him to find Calem".
"See Calem u ruin relationships with your gambling bullshit," Amy said.

"I don't think that's why he left, ima find out for u tho" Calem said to Mave,
"Thanks, Calem," Mave said smiling.
They arrived at school, as soon as they entered the halls, they all went their separate ways to classes. Mave though didn't have any class, it was a free period and Sarina was in the same class so she was free too, Mave thought it was time they made up.

Mave saw Sarina in the cafeteria by herself, she went over to the table and sat down with all the other popular girls and boys that were also having a free period. "Hey, Rina.." Mave said calling Sarina by their childhood name. "Hey, Mia," Sarina replied. "Can we talk in private.". The teenagers sat there watching the two girls looking at them.
"Go on, move," Sarina said. The kids cleared the table leaving just Sarina and Mave there.

"I missed u," Sarina said giving Mave a big hug. "I missed u too, but u got popular on me," Mave replied hugging her back. "I know, I'm sorry. A lot has been going on" Sarina explained. "Well the whole reason why I stopped hanging out with u was because u stopped hanging out with me, I thought u were angry at me for something.."

"That day, u were drooling over Jaz and I was trying to tell u something very, very important." mave said, "oh I'm soo sorry.. what were u gonna say tho?" Sarina asked. Mave wanted to burst and tell her ex-bestie everything, but couldn't. "It's not important anymore".

"U even stopped taking rides with me and Ethan.. u started driving with Amy," Sarina said 'Amy' with a disgusted look on her face. "Why'd u say her name like that?" Mave asked curiously. "She doesn't like me..". They both talked and lunch came. All the students flooded the cafeteria, Dane jumped up on the table in the middle of the cafeteria and shouted "Pool party at my mansion tonight peeps!!".

"U going?" Sarina asked. "Yea but not with u, we're kinda part of different cliques now.." Mave said getting up, Sarina understood and Mave went back to her friends at their table. "Guys my birthday is in 4 weeks..." Mave said.
The table got happy all of a sudden and they all started planning.

"It falls on Halloween, what are we doing?" Amy asked. They all talked about a Halloween party at Calem's house. Calem's house was right beside a beach, he lived alone in his mother's beach house and his mother lives in their actual house. It was a great idea.

Later that night, Mave, Moya, and Amy were at Mave's house doing their hair. They all sat on Mave's king-sized bed. Her room was cute, with Led Lights, fairy lights, mirrors, furry carpets. Mave decided to wear passion twists this time around with blue twists at the bottom and black on the top.

Moya did some red jumbo box braids and Amy just straightened her long blonde hair. They all decided to wear the same color, purple and black. Mave wore a merino cloth crop top but it was scrunched and black with purple ends, the crop top came with a short tight skirt that looked exactly the same but not scrunched. She wore a waist chain and a puffy short black jacket and some black sandals.

Amy wore a black tight dress in merino cloth and some sandals with a black and purple jeans jacket. And Moya wore some black short shorts, a merino black and purple top looking exactly like Mave's crop top only longer, not scrunched and button fronted with petal patterns at the end, she wore it all with a black oversized sweatshirt and some black and purple air jordans.

They were all ready to go, they got some pictures taken at the door by Catherine (Mave's mother) and headed out since Calem was already at the party. The girls looked hot stepping into the yard of Dane's mansion.
Mave wasn't feeling the blue braids she had in tho.

They went to the pool and stripped into their bath suits. They sat on the beach chairs where through the crowd, Mave spotted Jordan. She got up and walked over to him after putting on her skirt.
They went to one side and Mave calmly asked "why'd u ghost me?". "I had the stuff to deal with." He replied. U should've said so.

"Can u give me another chance m? Please?", Mave decided to give him a second chance and they hopped straight to being boyfriend and girlfriend that night. "Wait.. where's Calem?" Moya asked, they got up and saw Mave and Jordan and just left them alone.

They went inside to look for Calem. Calem was sitting on the couch talking to Dane and the other boys thank god there was no gambling going on.
Jordan went back to his guys and Mave went to look for her friends. She went outside and back to the car hoping they would've been in there. She went to the car and with one pull the door opened, but there was no one in it.

Mave decided to sit in the car and wait for the guys, she sent Amy a text and told them to get back to the car. Amy and the others came back to the car, Amy was shocked as to how Mave got in the car after she closed it. The three went up to the car, and Mave asked why the whole car was unlocked.
Mave's eyes widened when Moya and Amy said they locked all the doors and checked them as well.

Mave swore the car was opened. She decided to stay in there when the others went back to the party, suddenly Jevy appeared knocking on the car window. "Hey can we talk?", Mave said yes and went around the backseat with Jevy. "I'm not that talkative.." He said, "well I know that" Mave replied. "Yeah, so I don't share my opinions on things, Mave... I don't think your mother is telling u the truth." Jevy said, "what do u mean?".

"Your mother wasn't shocked about u talking to witches, she knew so much about them. She could either be a witch hunter, or an actual witch. She knows stuff that normal people wouldn't even notice with their own eyes." Jevy started.

"And if there's a possibility she's a witch.. you are gonna be in for a big surprise on your 16th birthday." , "what? You're not making sense." Mave replied. "Out of everyone else you're the one that's drawn to me.. u were so pulled to a random boy that u followed him out to abandoned train tracks and eager to know about him, witches are drawn to other witches" he started sounding even more right each second.
"What's your point Jev?" Mave said eagerly.

"I think you're a witch."
