"This is our safe haven, our town. Myself and a few other people began to build this place up at the beginning of the outbreak. Over time, we built up the walls, or, make shift walls anyway. A group of 6 people go out in one of our trucks every week and scavenge surrounding neighburhoods and stores for whatever they can find, and just last night as we were looking around the house you were staying in, we saw you pull into the driveway. We hid, but had you been paying more attention, im sure you could of seen us. Luckily enough, we saw you first. I apologize for the harsh first impression of us, we really are good people, but after a close call with another group of people, we learned that we cant trust strangers right off the bat. I also want to apologize for how my men treated you in the truck, they will be spoken to later about it."

I was amazed. This place was really something else. There were walls, lots of houses and buildings, and best of all, other people. It was magnificent.

"What do i call you?" I asked the man in front of me. He was rather burley looking. Big and muscular He looked like he maybe was in the marines before the outbreak.

"They call me The Big Man, but you can call me Paul, Paul Rotelli." He stuck his hand out for a shake. I took his hand and shook firmly.

"Adrian Thorne, my partner is Carl Grimes." I returned the introduction.

"Your boyfriend was taken to the infirmary, and then the showers, then your bunk. I assumed you two would like to share. You'll be doing the same thing. Follow me."

I followed Paul out of the truck bed, and towards a singl floored, red brick building. A sign above the door said infirmary in large black lettering. He opened the door, and let me in. I side, there was a desk with a short middle aged woman sitting behind it. She was wearing a clean pair of blue scrubs.

"This is one of our two doctors in town, Dr. Surren, between you and I, shes the one you want. Shes nicer, and does her job better than our other doctor, Dr. Frein. Ill leave you in her hands, she'll take good care of you."

With that, he turned around and left the building.
