"Let's talk to Don and Gilda Tonight"The shine of day soon faded after several hours. The heavy clicks of our shoes knocking against the wooden floor boards that covered the stairs, floor, and some of the trim on the walls. The night sky that was pitch black and barely showing light, which affected the house's lighting. The house had many windows which allowed it to have great lighting during the day but once it was night, corners and spaces the lanterns that hung on the walls soft orange glow didn't reach were dark and somewhat ominous.
All four of us walked up the stairs and stopped at a door. Me and Emma looked at each other, nodded, then looked to the two males behind us. "You two follow our lead." Emma said as Ray just let out small gasps in curiosity and Norman nodded with a small grunt.
I turned the bronze door knob and opened the door to the dimly lit library where we saw the sitting figures of the two ten year olds. The male ten year old turned his head to look at us while and the opposite gender ten year old had looked up. "What did you guys want to talk about?" Don said with a smile.
The four of us walked into the library, closing the door behind us. "So uhm..." Emma started. "We know this might come as a shock and it will be hard to understand at first" Emma continued. "But see recently all four of us had figured out our truth....the truth of the house and our lives here..." I continued. "You see we are being human trafficked" "probably part of some inside trafficking facility"
"What?....Human....Trafficking?..." Don repeated. I could here Gilda's soft gasps as she was sitting quietly. "Yeah all of our siblings have been sold off to bad people." At first Don looked to have realized what we said but he then bursted out into loud laughter with the rest of us being silent. "HAHAHA! There's No Way! No Way!" Don kept on his laughing burst "But The walls, the gate, and the siblings who left and never write us letters..." Norman gave his reasons to Don. "Oh Come On Now! So what's the punchline? what kind of prank is this?"
Don had looked back to me and Emma to which we shifted our heads to look at the floor. "Huh?....Huh?....You're not saying it's true, are you?" Don seemed to calm down but is having a soft panic in his voice. "It's true" The oldest child of the house said. "Wait. then what about Mom?" The panic in Don's voice rising. "She's the one..." "who's selling us to bad people..." Emma and I said together as we kept looking at the floor. "HAH?!?" The straight up raise in Don's voice caused me and Emma to flinch. "there's no way that kind Mom would do such a thing!!" Don grabbed me and Emma's opposite shoulders. "You Two...You Two Need to Take it Back!" "Don..." the up until now muted olive haired female spoke up. "Emma and Y/N love this house and Mom. So there's no way they would lie about that." Gilda gave her reasoning that backed us up, Don finally got the message as he let go of me and Emma. "Gilda..." Emma mumbled. " and I did think it was weird, The night Conny left, Emma and Norman went to the gate..." "you did?" Don asked " even if you broke the rules, both of you would usually apologized immediately and everything will be back to normal, but you haven't done that... Emma, and Y/N... you too have become so serious now, so I couldn't ask about it"
Gilda finally couldn't hold it in anymore as she ducked her head into her hands and started crying. Me and Emma immediately ran to Gilda's side. We were at her opposite sides holding her shoulders, keeping her close to us as she cried from all the worry she had built up for us. "I'm sorry, I'm Sorry, Gilda..." "Gilda I apologize...We never meant to make you worry about us so much...." "Did You see it, Emma?..Conny being sold off...to those bad people?....." Emma was about to respond but Norman responded before she could. "Yeah...but we didn't make it in time..." "Conny is safe, right?" Don asked. "I don't know..."
