I only blinked, while he carefully let go of me and looked away with a sigh. D-Did he just... reject me?! Ouch! But wait! That doesn't mean I'll give up that fast! He have to marry me!

My eyes widened when he picked up his bike and started walking away. And since I'm a desperate runaway bride who had unfortunately gotten rejected by her crush, I followed him. Heck! I can't let him go! He's my only savior!

"Wait, wait! I need you--I mean, I want you--" Smack my head, please.

He looked at me again with his narrowed eyes. The deep creased of his eyebrows was screaming that he's not liking what's happening... so am I!

Or maybe he's thinking that I'm going crazy?!

"Look, Miss. Are you sure you're still sane?" Like what I have thought! How harsh! "I don't have time for pranks, okay?"

He eyed me from head to toe. What the... What does he think of me?! I may be rich but I'm not spending money so recklessly! What? He thinks I bought wedding gown just to prank people?! Excuse me?!

"...So if you don't mind, stop bothering me."

"B-But I really need your help! Please! Marry me!" Oh, yeah. I threw my pride away. I'm this desperate!

However, I stiffened when he gave me a glare. My lips parted in shock, while he closed his eyes for awhile and sighed heavily maybe to calm himself.

"What you're asking isn't so simple and easy. You're young, how old are you? 18? 19? Why don't you focus on your studies, instead of thinking about marriage?"

I only pursed my lips to keep myself from smiling. He's acting like a dad. Sadly, my real father isn't like that. He's even the one who's pushing me to get married right away.

"I-It's complicated..." was what I had only replied. He stared at me in disbelief. "P-Please! I really, really need your help! But don't worry!" I tapped the bag that was hanging on my body. "I have my own money! I won't be a burden and--"

"No," he sternly said, cutting me off.

And he started walking again, mumbling something about how unlucky he was to have such a bad day. For some reason, my heart ached at the thought that he found me annoying... like my father...

I bit my lip as my eyes started welling up with tears maybe from the frustration, the feeling of lost...

I never imagined that even other people who I had just met would see me that way, a complete nuisance.

I stared at his back as he walked away. Wiping the tears that I didn't know already escaped my eyes, I walked back to the waiting shed and sat as if I'd lost my strength. I kept wiping my cheeks with my arms as I sobbed, not caring to my smudging make up that would surely make me look like a clown.

A clown in a wedding gown. How funny.

What would I do now? I thought marrying someone would at least save me, since it would change my surname. If I still use Heartfilia once I enrolled in school, Papa would be able to track me down that easy.

He knew how much my studies meant to me, I'm sure he'll do everything to block me out of schools in every corner of the country.

Then what would happen to me?! Ahh!! I need to continue my studies and prove to him that I don't need his...

"Geez, you're such a crybaby..."

Suddenly, a soft white scarf was being wrapped around my neck as the owner used its ends to wipe my tears. From my hands on my lap, I lifted my eyes to meet his softened stares, now sitting on his heel in front of me.
