Cecilia's POV
I groaned as the sun shone in my eyes, blinding me as I opened them. I looked around, and after a second of not knowing who I was or why I was here, all the memories from last night came flooding back to me like a tidal wave.
Oh, yeah. I ate some poisonous cake and ended up in the hospital.
A nurse rushed in, followed be the doctor.
"How are you feeling, Cecilia?" The doctor asked.
"I'm okay." I said.
He nodded. "Alright, you must know that according to your medical history, your allergy to peanuts is extremely serious and this time you got very lucky. Even a crumb more in whatever you ate and it would have been critical."
My eyebrows rose. Well fuck, I guess I kinda almost died.
Not today, Satan!
"But we just have to run a few tests, and you'll be released in a few hours."
He reassured.I sighed in relief. "Okay, thank you doctor."
He checked my vitals and left. I checked my phone.
07:32.
I had classes from 11:00 so I hoped that I would be out before then.
As I responded to texts from my friends telling me to get well soon, my phone started ringing. I answered and held it up to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Oh sweet pea, baby are you okay?" My mother said on the other end, worry laced in her tone.
"Yeah mom, I'm okay. I just had some cake that, for some reason had peanut crumbs inside. I had no idea, I'm sorry mom."
She sighed. "Oh, its okay, honey. I know you didn't know. How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine. A little tired, but okay. The doctor said I'd be released soon." I replied.
I heard shuffling on the other end. "Well, we all wanted to tell you that we love you and hope you get better soon."
"Love you, Lia!" Cassie said.
"Get better soon, sis!" Daniel yelled.
"You can do this, pumpkin." My dad said.
"Thanks guys. Love you all too. Bye!"
"Bye!" They all yelled in unison.
I cut the phone just as there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." I said.
My friends all ran in. I laughed as they stumbled over each other.
"Celia! How are you doing? Our room was so lonely yesterday without you." Hope sighed.
"You look tired, did we come at a wrong time?" Naomi furrowed her brows. "I told you guys it was too early. C isn't a morning person."
Ellie looked at Naomi. "She looks great, Omi. Cute as ever." She said and hugged me.
"Don't worry guys, I'm fine." I reassured, smiling.
"When are you getting discharged?" Charlie asked.
"A few hours. They still have to run a few tests." I said.
Alec came over and ruffled my hair. "We're really sorry this happened. Just so you know, we put Lacey in her place yesterday when she came over and confessed it all."
"Confessed?" I questioned with a raised eyebrow.
Hope narrowed her eyes angrily. "The psycho put peanuts in the cake knowing you were allergic, just to get rid of you and get closer to Charlie."
My eyes widened. That sneaky little bitch.
Matt then laughed. "Hope would've messed her up if Alec hadn't held her back."
"Hey, I didn't want the police being called." Alec defended.
"Well, we need to report what she did when we get back." Thomas then laughed as he shook his head. "To think that she thought that Charlie liked her. Because we all know who he really li-"
Thomas was cut off when Charlie punched him in the arm, then laughed nervously.
"Hehe.. Thomas you must be on something, man."
Thomas narrowed his eyes and rubbed his arm, mumbling profanities under his breath.
"So are you feeling okay? Do you need something? Water? I can go get you some water if your thirs-"
"I'm okay." I cut off Charlie, laughing a little. "Plus, if I wanted you guys as my servants, I'd much rather have you as them when I'm not sick."
We all laughed until Hope stopped laughing, looking as if an idea had popped into her head.
I could literally see the light bulb turning on above her head.
"Baby....you know I saw this really interesting pamphlet in the waiting room outside, wanna come check it out with me?" Hope turned to Alec, giving him a discreet wink.
Not so discreet if I could see it, though.
He understood and looked at the others. "We should go see it, you know. Hope knows her pamphlets." He laughed awkwardly.
Hope rolled her eyes and gave the others a look, then glanced at me, then at Charlie. A look of realization replaced all of their confused expressions.
"Yeah..sounds interesting. We'll be back, Celia. Why don't you keep her company, Charlie?" Ellie said.
He looked at them weirdly. "Uhh... Yeah, sure."
They all scurried out and me and Charlie looked at each other.
"Weirdos." I mumbled. "You know, hospitals really suck."
He laughed. "You've been here a day, Peanut. Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge."
I glared at him.
"What? Too soon?"
I narrowed my eyes. "Maybe you should hold off calling me that until I'm out of here. You know, out of the hospital bed I was put in because a bitch fed me peanuts!"
He raised a brow. "So are you saying that you don't want me to call you something that caused something else that comes as an inconvenience to you?"
I nodded. "Precisely."
"Well that's not fair! I'm not the one that hospitalized you! Why can't I call someone my favorite nickname yet for something that wasn't my fault?"
This time I raised an eyebrow. "Well, I'm sorry to tell you this, but it kinda is your fault. She did come after me to get to you."
He huffed and sat down on the bed, next to me. "Well its not my fault that I'm so darn beautiful that she couldn't resist."
I sighed and shook my head. "Anyways, what did you tell her when she said she had feelings for you?"
"I told her that I didn't like her and would never like her." He shrugged. "There's already someone else that..."
He trailed off and I looked at him. He was staring at me.I looked into his eyes and felt myself getting lost in them as he leaned in closer.
I didn't resist and inched closer until we were so close I could feel his breath on my face.
There was a loud crash at the door and we pulled away. We looked over at the door only to see our friends in a heap on the ground.
"Dammit! They were having there moment and you ruined it." Naomi glared at Alec.
"Hey! I was pushed! One of you assholes pushed me!" Alec defended himself.
They all glanced over at us and gave sheepish smiles as me and Charlie laughed.
