Charlie's POV

We walked over to the car I was borrowing.

"Is this your car?" Cecilia asked, her small hand in mine as she looked up at me.

"No. I'm borrowing it from a guy on the football team." I explained.

I took her to the passenger side and opened the door for her. She thanked me and I shut the door. I went over to the driver's side door and got in.

"So, let me guess; more 'captain privellages'." She teased, using air quotes over captain privellages.

I smiled remembering the time we played catch and had a genuine talk. "Well, that and a bit of bribery, but hey! That's not what today's about."

She giggled and looked out the dashboard window as I started the car.

We drove for a while in silence, but it was a comfortable silence. Until it was broken by Cecilia laughing.

"What's so funny?" I asked, glancing at her briefly, before turning back to the road.

"Its just so weird to think that less than a month ago I couldn't even talk to you without stuttering like an idiot and now we're going on a date."

"Firstly, I thought your stuttering was kinda cute. And secondly, hey, I guess when its right its right, y'know?" I said, and decided to be bold and took her hand again.

She looked up at me and smiled. "Yeah. I agree."

As we got closer to where I was taking her, she tugged on my hand. I looked down at her.

"Where are we going?" She asked. I chuckled.

"Somewhere."

"Where?" She asked impatiently.

"Its a surprise. You're gonna regret knowing when we get there. It won't be as fun." That shut her up and she huffed, looking out the window again.

"Patience, Peanut, patience." She glared at me, trying to hide her smile.

When I turned into the entrance of the place we were going, she looked around curiously and her eyes lit up.

"No way!" She said as I parked. "The amusement park! Charlie, you're amazing."

I flipped my imaginary hair over my shoulder. "Oh, well, being amazing is my specialty." She laughed at me and I opened my door, jogging over to her side and opening it for her before she could.

I took her hand and helped her out. "Well thank you, kind sir." She joked.

"Anything for a gorgeous maiden like yourself." I said and we laughed.

We got our tickets and entered. "Eeeeekkk! This is so exciting! I haven't been here since I was a kid." She squealed and tugged my hand.

We went over to a train and the conductor beckoned us over.

"This ride is excellent for lovebirds like yourself. Come on, try it." He smiled, and I looked at her. She nodded and we got in the one in the back.

The caboose, haha.

The ride started and the train was filled with a bunch of kids. We didn't care, though. We sang along to the song playing and laughed at our own ridiculousness.

When we got off, Cecilia glanced over to her right and her eyes widened. "Bumper cars! Come on, come on, let's go." She tugged me with her and we paid before climbing into two.

A kid sat in a red car across from me and glanced at us. "Are you two boyfriend and girlfriend?" He asked.

We looked at each other then back at him. "Something like that." We both mumbled before looking at each other and chuckling.
